Green Carpet


Soon after bidding farewell to the Milan Fashion Week, Camera NazionaledellaModa (CNM) in collaboration with Eco-Age, and with the support of the Ministry of Economic Development (MISE), the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) and the Municipality of Milan, organized the first ever The Green Carpet Fashion Awards. Inaugurated on 26 September at Milan’s prestigious TeatrodellaScala, the Green Carpet Fashion Awards is dedicated to promoting and celebrating sustainable innovation and efforts in the Fashion industry.

With the changing global milieu, and a steady shift in focus to sustainable production across industries, The Green Carpet Fashion Awards recognizes the need for the fashion industry to extend its purview to produce sustainably. So, to spread awareness about the imminent need for change in the fashion industry, the Awards concentrated on Italian producers that champion community and social justice, traditional craftsmanship, responsible supply chain management and innovation and technological transformation.

The Awards had thirteen categories, namely: The Community and Social Justice Award (Won byBrunelloCucinelli), The Best International Designer supporting Made in Italy Award (Winner: Tom Ford), The Technology and Innovation Award (Winner:Orange Fiber and Newlife), The Supply Chain Innovation Award (Winner: Gucci), The Eco Stewardship Award (Winner: Zegna), The Franca Sozzani GCC Award for Best Emerging Designer (Winner:TizianoGuardini), The Sustainable Producer Award (Winner:Taroni)The Artisanal Laureate Award: (Winner:Chiara Vigo)The Social Laureate Award (Winner: IllariaVenturiniFendi) and The Vogue Eco Laureate Award (Winner:Gisele Bündchen).
The Green Carpet Fashion Awards was attended by fashion royalty and artists alike. Some celebrities in attendance were Annie Lennox, Colin Firth, Giorgio Armani, Anna Wintour, Zoe Saldana, Lauren Hutton and Naomi Campbell amongst others.
