The concept of bringing food with the majestic sport of Polo
How would it be like when two restaurtners and polo enthusiasts come together? Probably, that’s when something like Polo in the Park would break off from the box. Vikrant Mathur and Naveen Singh who own the The Brown Saheb colluded due to their communal love for Polo, where Vikrant Mathur has been into the sport and sponsorships for over 10 years now, while Naveen Singh, an ardent rider is looking all bright to debut in Polo. This contemporary endeavor took a lot of players by wonder. Also, the concept of the place facilitates towards the recently announced Indian Arena Polo League, that gives way to the players to come and prepare of the Arena Polo. In a recent conversation, Vikrant Mathur opened up saying, "I think the time is right to introduce the concept of great food around Polo, the most exciting of sports. We've created the Polo in the Park concept to showcase the exciting sport of Polo along with good music, wine, and food. This is a first of its kind experience in India and I am sure it will be a roaring success".
Astonished by the theme many players came in to play at the place, like the Former India Captain Col Tarun Sirohi, Rets, Saurabh J Sandy, Daanish Iqbal, Saurabh Singh, Rakesh Sharma, Anurag Chaudhary, Sanjay Singh, Shamsher Sirohi, while some other big names are propheted to be seen soon, such as, Shamsheer Ali, Dhruvpal Godara, and Pranav Kapur.
One of the upcoming players; Saurabh J Sandy, mused “I have spent all my free time in the last three years dedicatedly honing my riding and learning to play Polo passionately. It’s a dream come true that I’ve been given access to the sport of kings through such platforms, and am able to learn from greats like Col Tarun Sirohi.” He shared that this platform is re-connecting all Polo lovers into a family unit.
Ms. Dharma Naik, regular attendance of Polo in the Park at The Brown Saheb is an avid supporter of the sport. “The Brown Saheb is like a breath of fresh air in an otherwise perceived inaccessible circuit. It’s been a wonderful way to not only learn more about the sport in a more relaxed manner but also appreciate the levels of hard work that the players and the teams behind the scenes put into training the Polo Ponies. While the food is of course very good – I am looking forward to the venue expanding and providing a respite from city life to boost the sport.”
The Brown Saheb promises to launch more events as well as matches at the venuse, while also working towards curating an experience for selected groups to enhance them in the sport along with fine dining experience.
