The premium British luxury brand Burberry is all set to enter the world of art by promoting talent from the creative walk of life
The exhibition is expected to be displayed at Old Sessions House, in Clerkenwell, London. It will acquire 3 floors displaying the British way of life and the characters. The show would display works of more than 30 eminent photographers’ like- Janette Beckman, Charlie Phillips, Ken Russell, Bill Brandt and various others. It will be a compilation of best 200 works of top notch photographers keeping in mind the theme of the exhibition.
During an interesting chit chat with Christopher Bailey, president and chief creative officer of Burberry, it was revealed that they wanted to celebrate how over the period of time the British lifestyle and dressing has evolved. They wanted to exhibit the importance of each era and celebrate creativity spilled at every stage. The mix of varied tastes, culture, clans and the belongingness towards each is the core concept of the exhibition. The journey in amassing these epic pictures has been impeccable. It included both bitter and sweet experiences with truth in every shade of life whether simple, mundane or ironic; it has eventually helped them craft the September collection.
The British photographer Alasdair McLellan will be organizing this exhibition along with Bailey and Lucy Moore of Claire de Rouen. They would also be showcasing some selected portfolios over all the social media platforms of Burberry for few months. The exclusive show will grace the London fashion week on September 16th till 1st of October 2017.
