Chile and India played in the Interna-tional series in Chile

The international series between India and Chile’s local teams started on Wednesday, April 18th at the Curico Polo Club.


The international series between India and Chile’s local teams started on Wednesday, April 18th at the Curico Polo Club.Indian team featuring HH Maharaja Sawai Padmanabh Singh (2), Abhimanyu Pathak (5), Simran Shergill (6) and Pratap Singh Rathore (2) faced a local team consisting of Felipe Espinosa (2), Benjamin Mayol (2), Martin Valenzuela (4) and Eddie Hamilton (3) in a very competitive match. The Indian Team played with full vigour and won the match in the last chukker.

On Thursday, April 19th, the Indian Team visited the Las Mercedes Polo Club to face the local team of Liga Polo Rancagua which was composed of Jose Tamas Labbe (3), Recaredo Ossa (3), Jose Manuel Labbe (5) and Julio Labbe P (3). The match was intense to say the least and it was the locals this time that got the victory.

On 20th, team India moved to the Pirque Polo Club to play a match of five chukkers at the court of Las Majadas de Pirque. Team India faced a Pircano Team featuring Gonzalo Ossandon (3), Mateo Gracia (3), Leon Cosmelli (3) and Pedro Miquel (3). The match was evenly contested and at the end of the five chukkers, it finished at 11-11.

On Saturday, April 21st and Sunday April 22nd, the International match Test “Cola Alfonso Rozas Ossa” was played at the San Cristobal Polo and Riding Club. The Chilean team on Saturday was composed of Edmundo Varela (4), Martin Arrau (3), Vincente Noguera (3) and Jose Miguel Pereira (5). The Chilean team came out on top after a tight start.

On Sunday, the Chilean team comprising of Antonio Pereira (6), Jose Rafael Zegers (5), Jose Ignacio Martinez (3) and the young Nicolas Ureta (2) faced team India. In this match too, the Chilean team came out on top and won the Alfonso Rozas Ossa Cup. The game was followed by an exhibition by the children of the Club’s school.
