The undefeated teams La Indiana and Coca-Cola went head to head in the finals of the Carlos Gracida Cup on 31st of March at the International Polo Club Palm Beach in Wellington, Florida. It was a fitting end to a tournament which showcased high quality & intense polo.
Coca Cola started the proceedings with a goal in the first 40 seconds. La Indiana equalised to make it 1-1 at the end of the first chukker. The second chukker saw Coca-Cola go behind as La Indiana scored thrice and the chukker ended at 2-3. The score at half-time was 3-4 in favour of La Indiana. The fourth chukker was an entertaining one as both teams scored 3 goals each making the score 6-7 at the end of it. Coca Cola scored and thereby levelled the score in the fifth at 7-7. Both teams scored three goals each in the final chukker to make the score 10-10 to take the match into overtime.
Coca-Cola scored first and won the inaugural Carlos Gracida Cup finals by 11 goals to 10. Sugar Erskine was the MVP and Fanta, owned by Gillian Johnston, was the Best Playing Pony.
