C.V. Whitney Cup semifinals played with great vigour

Competed for by a single-elimination format the 2018 C.V. Whitney featured four teams with semifinal matches on Wednesday, February 28, and Thursday, March 1, at the International Polo Club Palm Beach in Wellington, Florida Valiente and The Daily Racing Form - DRF took on each other on the opening day of the C.V. Whitney Cup. Everybody was excited to see the two top-rated players in the world: Adolfo Cambiaso and Facundo Pieres playing for the same team for the first time ever.
Valiente started the game well but DRF settled the score in the second chukker to make it 3 goals each. Valiente took the lead as they scored thrice in a row to make it 6-5 at half time. Pieres scored his tenth goal of the match in the final chukker to lead his side to victory. Valiente won the match by 13-10 and secured the first spot in the C.V Whitney Final. Colorado took to the field in the second semifinal match against Grand Champions Polo Club (GCPC). Grand Champions got off to a good start and were leading 3-2 by the end of the first. Colorado got back into the match as they levelled things up by the end of the second at 4 -all. An entertains third chukker saw the score board change frequently and ended at 8-7 in favour of GCPC. The score was tied by the end of the fifth at 11-all. Colorado won the match in the final chukker by 14 goals to 13 as GCPC missed a penalty in the dying second of the match.
The final is set to take place on March 4th, 2018.
