Daily Racing Form- DRF Bets met Valiente in the finals of the US Open at the International Polo Club Palm Beach on Sunday, April 22nd. Valiente were set to win their 18th match in a row and with it the US Triple crown, but DRF Bets caused one of the biggest upsets in US Open history as they ended Valiente’s winning run and themselves lifted the 114th US Open trophy. DRF Bets got the better of Valiente thanks to some resolute defending and clinical counter attacks.
Daily Racing Form got off to a flying start and were clinical in their finishing. They were leading Valiente by 6 goals to 3 at the end of the first chukker. They defended resolutely and neutralised most Valiente attacks.
Early in the fifth chukker, Ulloa was hit on the right side of his safety glasses by a ball. This left a deep gash on the right side of the eye, but he returned to the field after being treated by a trainer.

“I couldn’t see too well in the last two chukkers and I didn’t play too well, but the team was playing so well, just amazing,” said Ulloa, whose horses were named best string for the 2018 season. “This is really unbelievable.”
The coach Arellano warned his players not to let the momentum shift after the injury time out and his players kept playing well, until later in the match when Valiente got to within just one goal, at 10-9 but all further chances fell short and DRF Bets ran away winners by a 10-9 margin.
Zenni was named the Most Valuable Player while Millenaria, played by Mariano Obregon was named the Best Playing Pony.
“We knew we could do it,” Zenni said. “That was the game of our lives. It was our day.”
