THE ELEGANT CAPSULE COLLECTION OF 2017; VICTORIA’S SECRET X BALMAIN

The news of lingerie giant teaming up with the luxury brand Balmain is streaming up the keen interests of the people at large. Victoria’s Secret asking Balmain’s Creative Director Oliver Rousteing to add glamour to their show which is being held on November 28 in Shanghai, China that would be aired on US network CBS; All the pieces would be available from the next day i.e. November 29 in stores for the public to purchase.
The news of the tie-up has already lit a curious spark across the social media as there’s plenty of discussion going over Rousteing’s Balmain Army- the girl’s gang who religiously star in this campaign. The French designer will choose audacious friends Sara Sampaio, Joan Smalls, Alessandra Ambrosio and Karlie Kloss to model his first mainline foray into his capsule collection.
Capsule wardrobe is a term coined by Susie Faux, the owner of a London boutique called “Wardrobe” in the 1970s. According to Faux, a capsule wardrobe is a collection of a few essentials items of clothing that don’t go out of fashion, such as skirts, trousers, and coats, which can be augmented with seasonal pieces. So the latest haute couture brought in by Rousteing is expected to be immortal for the lingerie fashion world.
For now we can see through the teaser video on twitter and a black and white poster on Instagram. The clip hints that the collection will feature black fabrics, metallic adornments, jeweled accents and rocker studs—and that's just the beginning. The image on Instagram portrays both the brand names scrawled across, what looks like a punk tribute to Sex Pistol’s album artwork of yore, something seductive and sensuous as black and white art, with a hint of a leopard print on it.
The launch of the exclusive VS x BALMAIN partnership brings up the curious vibes around with loads of assumptions expecting the tie-up to be one of the epic.
