England to host its first ever All Star 40-goal match.
The All Pro Polo League (APPL) is all set to organise an All Star 40-goal match in collaboration with Cowdray Park Polo Club (CPPC) widely considered as the home of British Polo. The match, first of its kind in the country, is scheduled to be played on 23rd June 2018 at the club.

After a successful inaugural edition last year in Argentina, APPL will aim to create an even bigger buzz about the sport through its 2018 edition.

“The APPL is trying to speed up the game and make it easier to understand, especially for those who are not familiar with the sport. One of our goals at CPPC is to take polo to a wider audience and show what a fantastic spectacle it truly is.”, Roderick Vere Nicoll, Chairman of Cowdray Park Polo Club , was quoted saying.

Some of the biggest names in the world of Polo have already committed to the event, including the likes of Facundo Pieres, Gonzalito Pieres, Nico Pieres, Polito Pieres, ‘Sapo’ Caset, Hilario Ulloa, Pablo MacDonough, Juan Martin Nero and ‘Pelon’ Stirling.

‘Sapo’ Caset was quite vocal about his expectations from the match being played in England, terming it as a ‘historic’ event. He put forth his ideas about how a 40-goal exhibition game is the best idea to popularise the sport and widen its reach.

Javier Tanoira, the founder of APPL, aims to establish this standard of Polo all around the world. “Matches like these are very important,” he explains. “They not only show that the best players in the world support our project, but that the best clubs in the world are getting involved, too.”

All in all, the highly rated event promises to help the newer set of audience understand the concept of the sport and simultaneously putting up a sporting spectacle for Polo aficionados.
