he event witnessed an iconic match between India ARC and France on Saturday, March 10th 2018.
The event sponsored by Mrs. Rajashree Birla was held at the ARC Polo Ground, Mahalaxmi Race Course in presence of Mr. Suresh Tapuriah, President, Amateur Riders Club, Honourable Mrs. Rajashree Birla representing the Aditya Birla group and H.E. Ch Vidyasagar Rao, Governor of Maharashtra.
The exciting match between the two countries saw players like Mr. Rahul Dwarkadas, Mr. Sidhanth Sharma, Mr Basheer Ali and Mr. Samir Suhag and Mr. Dinyar Madon bearing the torch for the India ARC team, while Mr. Clément Toussaint, Mr. Joules Lougoube, Mr. Clément Delfosse and Mr. Mathew Delfosse made the French Team a worthy competition.
The two teams made history as they faced each other for the very first time as part of the 71st Annual Horse Show & Polo Tournaments - 2018. The cup was sponsored by Mrs. Rajashree Birla in the memory of her late husband Mr. Aditya Birla, honoring his love and passion for the sport of polo.
Basheer Ali and Samir Suhag linked superbly and Team India ARC won the match by 4 goals to 1.
Basheer Ali was crowned man of the match for his impressive three goals.
