IPG Col Girdhari Singh Memorial Cup: Semi Finals

PG Col Girdhari Singh Memorial Cup (8 Goal) polo tournament is in progress with 9 teams participating. Tournament is played on half cross league basis. Nine teams are divided into three pools. (Pool A – Velocity-Polywood Polo Academy, IPG Bedla, 24 Secure Polo, Pool B – Cavalry-Navy, Adie Broswon, People Prime Worldwide, Pool C – Jindal Panther, Sahara Warriors Achievers, Aravali Polo).

Semi final matches of the tournament were played today at Jaipur Polo Ground. Sahara Warriors Achievers beat JIndal Panther by 7 goals to 4 and IPG Bedla beat People Prime Worldwide by 6 goals to 3.

First semi final was played in between Sahara Warriors Achievers and Jindal Panther. Salim Azmi scored opening goal for Sahara Warriors Achievers and Mtthew Perry added one more goal while Simran Shergill scored opening goal for Jindal Panther in the1st chukker. In the 2nd chukker Salim Azmi converted a 30 yard penalty for Sahara Warriors Achievers while Cutinelli Goffredo scored one goal for Jindal Panther. In the 3rd chukker Matthew Perry and Raghav Rao scored one goal each for Sahara Warriors Achievers while Jindal Panther could not score any goal. In the last chukker Simran Shergill and Cutinelli Goffredo scored one goal each for Jindal Panther to reduce the margin but Matthew Perry scoed 2 goals to maintain their team’s lead and won the match by 7 goals to 4. Scorers for Sahara Warariors Achievers were – Matthew Perry (4), Salim Azmi (2), Raghav Rao (1). Scorers for Jindal Panther were – Simran Shergill (2), Cutinelli Goffredo (2).

Second semi final was played between IPG Bedla and People Prime Worldwide. Eugenio Espinar scored opening goal for People Prime Worldwinde while Siddhant Sharma scored opening goal for IPG Bedla in the 1st chukker. In the 2nd chukker Abhimanyu Pathak scored 3 goals for IPG Bedla whereas People Pirme Worldwide could not score any goal. In the 3rd chukker Himmat Singh Bedla and Siddhant Sharma scored one goal each for IPG Bedla while Janmejai Singh scored one goal for People Prime Worlwide. In the last chukker Janmejai Singh again scored one goal for People Prime Worldwide. Scorers for IPG Bedla were – Abhimanyu Pathak (3), Siddhant Sharma (2), Himmat Singh Bedla (1). Scorers for People Prime Worldwinde were – Janmejai Singh (2), Eugenio Espinar (1).

Finals of IPG Col Girdhari Singh Memorial Cup (8 Goal) will be played at 1500 hrs on Sunday, 03 Dec 2017 at Jaipur Polo Ground between IPG Bedla and Sahara Warriors Achievers.
