Lucchese 40-goal Polo Challenge
The exhibition game held annually at the International Polo Club Palm Beach in Wellington, Florida, is dedicated to financially benefit the Polo Players Support group (PPSG). The event unites eight of the most famous polo internationals, all 10-goal players, to go head to head in probably the most exciting match annually. Team Pilot featuring Miguel Novillo Astrada, Hilario Ulloa, Gonzalito Pieres and Mariano Aggies took on Team Airstream featuring the great Adolfo Cambiaso, Nico Pieres, Sapo Caset and Sebastian Merlos. Airstream were in blue while Team Pilot were in white.

Airstream won the match convincingly by 14 goals to 7 despite Team Pilot’s best efforts. Adolfo Cambiaso shined as expected and contributed five goals in a match which seemed pretty even till halftime as the score was 5-4. Airstream capitalized on the two-point goals and extended their lead to 11-6 heading into the final chukker. The final chukker saw Airstream claim an impressive 14-7 victory.

Hilario Ulloa’s Lituana was awarded the Best Playing Pony award, while Nico Pieres was given the Long Shot of the Day vote for his stunning two-point goal in the final chukker.
