On the opening day of the second trophy of the Dubai Polo Gold Cup Series, 2018 - The Masters Cup, Mahra Polo Team, and UAE Polo Team premiered with two deserved victories. On 11th February, Mahra faced Wolves in the first match and UAE Polo faced Habtoor in the second match at the Al Habtoor Polo Resort & Club. Mahra got the better of Wolves as they beat them by 8 goals to 6 bringing an end to the first match of the day. Mahra took a three-goal lead into the third chukker thanks to a quick start and managed to hold on to the lead despite best efforts by Wolves. In the second match, UAE Polo defeated Habtoor by 5.5 goals to 4.UAE were 4.5 goals up in the first chukker itself and scored another in the second. A late comeback by Habtoor saw the close the gap to just 1.5 goals but it wasn’t enough and UAE ran away as winners.

On 12th February, the second day of action of the Masters Cup saw RA Polo take on Wolves. RA Polo, patron Rashid Al Falahi’s team had a successful debut in the tournament with a deserved victory in the match held at field 2 of the Al Habtoor Polo Resort & Club. RA Polo took the early lead and were 3-1 up by the end of the second chukker and consequently won the match by 6-3.

The third day of the Masters Cup saw two matches take place at the Al Habtoor Polo Resort & Club. The first match featured UAE Polo and Mahra. Mahra scored two in the first chukker and secured an early lead at the end of it with the score being 1.5-2 at the end of it, however, a dominant display in the following chukkers saw UAE score 9 more in response to just 5 from Mahra.

The match saw UAE Polo defeat Mahra by 10.5 goals to 7. UAE Polo became the first team to secure a place in the finals of the Masters Cup. The second match was between Habtoor Polo and RA Polo with the former winning the match by 9 goals to 4. The first chukker saw both team score two, however, Habtoor scored 4 more in the second and the score was 6-2 by the end of it. The third and fourth chukker saw Habtoor add 3 more goals to their tally to make the final score 9-4. Habtoor Polo, Mahra, and RA Polo will decide the remaining spot in the final by a penalty shootout on 14th from 10 am at the Al Habtoor Polo Resort & Club.
