he Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week showcasing the Spring/Summer collection for 2018 was held at Berlin, Germany. The event was furthered with an objective of highlighting Mercedes-Benz’s involvement in the global fashion scenario, which is known widely to have commenced 22 years ago, creating the niche for budding designers. It is marked as a significant event in the calendar of the fashion enthusiasts, especially with the background that Berlin has maintained with runway shows.

The Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at Berlin was a four-day event with each day providing the runway to specific designers marked important along with the vast admixture of collections by numerous others. The event clubbed together designers who drew inspiration from a wide range of ideas and showed a unique blend of outfits on the runway. The collections were embedded in elements of traditionalism, modernity, feminism and associating it with masculinity, and much more. The first day began with a collection under Ivanman. His spring/summer collection 2018 comprised of a silhouette theme stylized in a blue-black combination. His uniqueness in combining men’s wear with sportswear was well reflected from the collection. Part of it showed outfits that were topped with an oversized black blazer, each fashioned uniquely. While the rest of the collection comprised dungarees in blue. Towards the end, the models were seen in outfits that maintained a common style with thin, colored danglers that enhanced the sporty look.

The most remarkable of all the designers appeared to be the collection by Ewa Herzog. She drew the inspiration for her pieces from an exotic flower garden and their elements were well reflected in her design. It not only comprised of dresses in various lengths, but exhibited pants as well. She brought into trend subtle and pastel colors like peach, grey, pink, yellow, olive. The collection also comprised of bright colors like black, blue and red, but each making a statement through the fine lace and silk fabrics used. The dresses had a flare element and gave each outfit a very graceful look. Ewa Herzog walked down the runway at the end in a red midi, flare dress, with an elite touch.

The four-day event had lined up numerous budding as well as established designers and brands. Lena Hoschek advertised a very traditional element in the outfits through colors like red, white and a hint of green. Her outfits used the hourglass shape and were mostly in floral’s. These outfits were accessorized by Afghani danglers and for footwear red lace up boots and strappy heels were used. The collection of Laurel, founded by the designer Elizabeth Schwaiger portrayed a unique combination of sensual and cool. Loana Cloclacu, which is a Romanian fashion label, drew together elements of femininity and masculinity.

Designers like Marcel Ostertag used patterns that reflect traditional elements but were cut out in modern fits. Dawid Tomaszewski, a German luxury brand designer, exhibited a very unique collection in yellow feathers. The fabrics were marked by patterns and uncompromising fits. The Spring/Summer collection also saw monochrome combinations and vertical stripes through the designs Dorothee Schumacher.
