Polo At Summer Youth Olympic Games 2018

It came as a rejoicing news for the polo associates when the Summer Youth Olympic 2018 gave way to Polo. This Olympic brought with itself light for all the polo community and the next generation polo players by confirming the showcase of the sport Polo during the Summer Youth Olympic Games scheduled from 6-18 October 2018, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. After a visit to the Argentina Capital, the Fourth International Olympic Committee Coordination Commision, polo was approved to be added to the sports program.

We want to thank the support of the Argentine Olympic Committee so that polo is once again an Olympic sport," said Eduardo Novillo Astrada, President of the Argentine Polo Association at the Polo showcase during the Youth Olympic Games 2018.
The showcase of Polo involved a demonstration of the sport with 28 countries from 12 countries. The same was attended by International Olympic Committee (IOC) members including Gerardo Werthein, the President of the Organising Committee for the Summer Youth Olympic Games. The event at Campo Argentino de Polo organised by the Federation of International Polo had competitors from the countries such as Argentina, Colombia, Chile, the United States, Italy, England,the United Arab Emirates, Australia and Scotland.
