Bodyguard and Cavalry Battled It Out For President’s Polo Cup 2018
The bright and sunny day witnessed a steamed battle between team Bodyguard and team Cavalry for President's Polo Cup. The participating teams had Simran Shergill, Shamsheer Ali, Cdr Akhil Sirohi, and Navjit Sandhu playing for Bodyguard, while Cavalry had Col. Ravi Rathore, Lt Col Vishal Chauhan, Angad Kalaan, and Basheer Ali.

The game opened with Simran Shergill, a +6 handicap player. Taking hold of the ball, Simran tapped it through the ground, keeping a secured contact with the ball and turning it into the opening goal of the match. The goal boosted the confidence of the team, and with a similar spirit, Simran targeted another goal for the team. After team Bodyguard secured two goals back to back, it was time Cavalry to get into action. Col Ravi Rathore came forward and took the ball in his control. Complimented by his team in defending the opponent team, Col Ravi Rathore stroked the splendid first goal for his team. Only when the competition was getting intact, Simran strikes yet another goal for his team bringing a lead. His move was followed by Shamsheer Ali's powerful strike, with which team Bodyguard had a score of 4 while Cavalry stood at 1.5

The next chukker started off but witnessed a close battle where both the teams were able to secure one goal each after missing a lot of chances and moves. Team Bodyguard maintained its lead with Shamsheer Ali's gaol, while Cavalry still keeping up the heat of the battle secured a goal with the undefended 30 yard penalty. The chukker wrapped at 5-2.5

The third chukker witnessed a whole new story where Cavalry outshined with its performance. The chukker opened with a long 60 yard penalty shot of Col Ravi Rathore. This goal was followed by another goal by him. Matching his performance, Basheer Ali stroke two goals back to back with long and clean shots. By now, team Cavalry had started to lead with a score of 5-6.5. But keeping the joy of the opponent team short, Simran came in to take a penalty shot, securing the sixth goal for the team. After the penalty shot, he again stroke a lofted shot in favor of Bodyguard. With this, the third chukker ended at 7-6.5

The competition has a difference of just 0.5 score when the fourth chukker started, and the match could turn in the favor of any team. The chukker had everyone on the brink of the chair. The game started and as and when Simran stroke a goal for his team it felt that the fate of the match had been predicted, but just in the last minute of the match chukker Col Ravi Rathore hit the ball through the goal post with a hope to change the fate of the scoreboard. But by the wrapping seconds of the chukker no more changes were made. The match ended at 8-7.5 where team Bodyguard evolved as the winners.
