The Vodafone Sirmur Cup came to an exciting turn with four teams battling to make it to the finals. First semifinal match held between Chandna Group and Rajnigandha Achievers.

he Vodafone Sirmur Cup came to an exciting turn with four teams battling to make it to the finals. First semifinal match held between Chandna Group and Rajnigandha Achievers. The first chukker started with the whistle and Matthew Perry opened up the scoreboard with a goal soon Abhimanyu Pathak and Siddhant Sharma with one goal each, Rajnigandha Achievers were leading by 3 goals. At the start of the second chukker Matthew Perry scored again, soon Sameer Suhag retaliated and scored a magnificent hat-trick, soon after Siddhant Sharma scored the last goal of the chukker. In the third chukker, Abhimanyu Pathak and Matthew Perry found the goal post and added two more goals on the scoreboard; Sameer Suhaag scored two back to back goals for his team. In the final chukker, Sameer Suhaag took the matter into his hand and scored the first goal of the chukker from an amazing distance of 60-yards but Sanjay Kapur and Abhimanyu Pathak scored one goal each as an answer; Sameer Suhaag tried his best to level the score but he could score only one goal at the end of the final chukker and Rajnigandha Achiever won the match by the final score of 9-7 and made it to the finals.

The second semifinal clash was between Jindal Panthers/Garcha Hotels and Vodafone Royals; a half goal advantage was given to Vodafone Royals. With the start of the first chukker, Dhruvpal Godara got a penalty and he scored the first goal of the match for Vodafone Royals, soon Manuel Fernandez Llorente scored the first goal for Jindal Panthers and to gain the lead Simran Shergill scored one. By the end of the first chukker, Jindal Panthers were leading by half a goal. In the second chukker, Manuel Fernandez Llorente and Dhananjay Choudhary teamed up and scored two goals. Dhruvpal Godara scored two consecutive goals in the third chukker for Vodafone Royals including one penalty; Jindal Panthers got a penalty and Manuel Fernandez Llorente scored one. The match continued and the final chukker ended with only one goal by Simran Shergill’s mallet. The second semifinal ended with the final score 6-3 ½ in Jindal Panthers/Garcha Hotels favor.
