The first match of the fifth day of the XI FIP World Polo Championship had India playing against New Zealand. After crushing defeats at the hands of England and Chile previously in the Championship, India despite it's loss, redeemed itself. India lead the match in the first three chukker and the majority of fourth chukker with a score of 8-5, however by the of fourth chukker New Zealand not only managed to level the scores but also win by securing a narrow lead of 1 goal. After an arduous match, the final score totalled at 8-9 in favor of New Zealand. The second match of the day was between USA and Spain, USA defeated Spain. USA started off by leading in the first chukker by 3- 1 1/2 however Spain made a comeback by halftime. Despite bringing their best game to the field USA won with a final score of 15-9 1/2. The next match, which was between England and Chile, where England defeated Chile. The match started out with Chile almost instantly tightening it's reins and leading by 4-1. But soon enough England outperformed their formidable opponents and rode to their victory by the end of the match with a score of 8-5. The final match of the day had Argentina playing against host team Australia. The result of the match was unsurprising as the defending champions and ostensibly the best team at the championship, Argentina won against their opponents. However this win did not come easy, as Australia started off at the right foot, but the Argentines skill and control proved to be unsurpassable as they finally won with a score of 9-5 1/2.
