Sotogrande International Polo Tournament, the biggest social and sporting event on the Costa del Sol has been held at the Santa Maria Polo Club for the past 46 years. The event which gathers more than 90000 people in the month of August, is a unique show around the world of the horse, glamour and luxury. The tournament comprises of the sport of Polo, the spectacle, the party and the social events. Most of the best professional Polo players in the world have passed through the Santa Maria Polo Club.

With expensive wines and barbecues laid for the players and their friends and families, The International Polo tournament continues to be one of the biggest and the most luxurious Polo events in the world.
The high goal HCP Gold Cup was a delight to watch the entire season. It was a difficult season for the teams to qualify. A 19-20 handicap cup, the HCP gold cup was intense and full of enthusiasm and it had the crowd always excited. With Lechuza, La Indiana, Bardon and Dubai qualifying for the semi-finals, the HCP gold cup was lifted to a whole new level. Some teams had to lose so Lechuza defeated Dubai by 10-9 to enter the finals in a nerve-racking match and La Indiana defeating Bardon comparatively easily by 13-9. <.p>
The finals of the high goal HCP Gold Cup was played between La Indiana and Lechuza on 31st August. The audience received the delight and enthusiasm they expected. But the finals didn’t fulfil Lechuza’s expectations as they lost to La Indiana by 13-8. La Indiana were the winners of the high goal HCP gold Cup of 47th International Polo Tournament.
