59th Copa Thai Polo: High-Goal Polo Tournament

Featuring the epitome of polo, the 2024 Copa Thai Polo released euphoria into people who looked on at the action up close in the auspicious Abierto Del Jockey Club. 

Six teams divided among two zones participated in this year’s Copa Thai Polo to claim bragging rights as the finest among the greatest. A lot happened at the venue when teams with the highest handicaps faced each other, along with some really exciting and startling results. Here’s a list of the preeminent teams and results from the tournament’s latter stages.

After jubilant performances and pulling a win from the jaws of defeat, four teams advanced into the semi-final stages of the tournament. Here’s what happened next:

Semi-Final 1: Scone vs Black Hound

Date: 18 September 

The first semi-final game was fought between Scone and Black Hound. Both teams reached this stage of the game after valiant performances and tried to continue their momentum. However, Scone was better accustomed to their teamwork and performed their hearts out on the field, scoring a dozen goals in response to the nine scored by Black Hound. 

Winners: Scone ( 12-9 )

Semi-Final 2: La Hache vs Dubai La Natividad

An emotional roller coaster ride between La Hache and Dubai La Natividad determined the second finalist. This was by far the closest, nerve-wracking match in the event. Both teams’ scores were levelled during the final moments of the game, and finally, La Hache landed the final blow by scoring a final goal before the end of time. Emotions befell upon the field as the victors moved a step closer to claiming the cup. 

Winners: La Hache ( 11-10 )

Final: La Hache vs Scone 

Date: 21 September 

After a two-day break, La Hache and Score took the field for one last ride in this coveted tournament. In the league stages, Scone had defeated La Hache once and was looking to do the same, while the latter was looking for revenge. La Hache, with a calm and collected composure, unleashed a fury of goals upon Scone, to which Scone tried to respond the best they could but was unable to do so with the clock ticking and running out of time. 

Winners: La Hache ( 13-9 )
