61st Cavalry bags their first win for the Indian Season 2022-23

11th August

Commencing the tournament 61st Cavalry represented by Ld Illyas, Maj. Anant, Maj. Mrityunjay and Dhruvpal Godara took the pitch against Chennai Polo 2.0 represented by Irshad Mecca, Junaid Nehri, Wasim Akram and Salim Azmi. Although the latter started with a 3.5 goal advantage and put up a great challenge but 61st Cavalry leveled the scores by the 3rd chukker with 5 goals to their 5.5 goals. Through impressive defense back and forth and the goals added by aces Dhruvpal Godara and Maj. Anant Rajpurohit the 61st Cavalry team managed to win with 12 goals to 5.5 goals.

 

12th August

Second day into the tournament the students of Bangalore International School were present in the audience in the game while the outstanding teams of ASC and Navy-RVC took the pitch. Taking the semi final matches for the latter team were members: Swr Santosh/ Ld. Satprakash, Dfr. Vijay Singh/ Ld Ram Singh, Cdr. AK Panchal and Capt. AP Singh while for ASC were the members: Sep. Ravinder Mang. Lt. Col. Yatinder, Lt. Col. Prithvi and Cdr. Akhil Sirohi. Even though Navy-RVC put up a good mix of defense strategies and picture perfect goals they fell short to the ASC team that won with 7.5 goals to 3.

 

14th August 2022

The final day of the tournament played on August 14 occurred between 61st Cavalry and ASC who started off with a half goal advantage. Soon the game was flipped by the 61st Cavalry who were clearly in it to win it despite the replacement of Dhruvpal Godara and Maj Mrityunjay. Soon the team had 4 goals added by the second chukker but were fought off by ASC who picked up the pace with their goals leading to a nail biting final chukker score of a close 7 goals to 6.5 goals in the advantage of 61st Cavalry. Picking up the trophy the team started off this year’s season with a bang!
