Achievers DB Realty bag another feather in their hat through the second cup of the 22nd Jodhpur Season.

December 17, 2021 | Rajputana and Central India Cup

Starting off the 131st edition of the tournament with style Achievers DB Realty and Rajnigandha Achievers played an exceptional match.

For the Achievers DB Realty team Shamsheer Ali, Daniel Otamendi, Jayvirsingh Gohil and Ashok Chandna took the pitch while Syed Basheer Ali, Allan Shaun Michael, Gerrardo Mazzini and Dhananjai Singh represented Rajnigandha Achievers.

     

In the first chukker Achievers DB Realty took the lead by a 0.5 advantage and Ashok Chandna scored the first goal. Rajnigandha Achievers gave equal competition by scoring 2 goals against the former’s 3.5 goals. Both teams went back and forth with an equal on the scoreboard up until the fourth chukker. The combined efforts of Daniel Otamendi and Shamsheer Ali for the Achievers DB Realty up against the latter’s brother Syed Basheer Ali resulted in a close call of 5 to 4 goals. Thus Achievers DB Realty won with a final score of 8.5 to 7 goals.

 

December 18, 2021 | Rajputana and Central India Cup

   

With the same impactful sportsmanship, Polo Factory-61st Cavalry and The Jodhpur Team took the pitch on the second day of the tournament.

  

Playing for Polo Factory/61st Cavalry were Maj. Aman Singh, Maj Mrithunjay Singh, Gaurav Sahgal and Siddhant Sharma while Kr. Vikramaditiya Singh, Hurr Ali, Col. Ravi Rathore VSM (Retd.) and Simran S. Shergill.

  

With a 0.5 goal advantage Polo Factory/61st Cavalry start the match yet the Jodhpur Team showed faultless form to win 2 goals right off the bat. The second chukker remained tight and both teams performed superbly yet through the finesse of Siddhant Sharma and Maj. Aman Singh, Polo Factory/61st Cavalry scored 3.5 to 2 The team finally won through a match filled with ups and downs at a neck to neck score of 6.5-5 goals. Even so, Col. Ravi Rathore, Hurr Ali and Vikramaditiya Barkana  played wonderfully for their team.

December 20, 2021 | Rajputana and Central India Cup

Picking up on the topsy-turvy nature of the matches, the mallets of the Achievers DB Realty and Jodhpur Team went into the semi-final melee late in the afternoon.

   

Despite the 0.5 goal advantage for the Achievers DB Realty team, the Jodhpur Team seized 2 goals within the first 5 minutes. Maintaining his outstanding caliber Simran S. Shergill scored 5 goals for the team taking the scores to 7 goals against 4.5.

Nonetheless turning up the storm the Argentinian ace Daniel Otamendi scored a continuous 4 goals which added onto the singular goals of Syed Shamsheer Ali, Jayvir Gohil and Lokendra Dhirawat lead them to a victory of 9.5 goals to 7 goals. The home-crowd was also graced by H.H. Maharaja Gaj Singhji 2nd of Jodhpur-Marwar.

December 21, 2021 | Rajputana and Central India Cup

The second decider match witnessed a nail-biting series of events as the tournament was coming to its climax. Polo Factory/ 61st Cavalry and Rajnigandha Achievers faced off in an heroic match.

  

Dhananjai Singh scored a hat-trick  alongside the single shot of Syed Basheer Ali within the first chukker leading to a score of 4 to 1.5 goals in favor of Rajnigandha Achievers. Soon the tides of the game shifted through the virtuoso Siddhant Sharma showcasing his forte by scoring 4 goals in the third chukker and 2 goals in the final chukker for Polo Factory/ 61st Cavalry. Maj. Mrityunjay Singh and Gaurav Sahgal contributed single goals each yet, scoring the last minute 3 goals Rajnigandha Achievers secured their place in the finals.

   

December 23, 2021 | Rajputana and Central India Cup

Right before the festivities began, the polo pitch was graced by an extraordinary  audience and Yuvraj Shivraj Singh, Jodhpur-Marwar threw in the ball as the prodigious teams Achievers DB Realty and Polo Factory/61st Cavalry faced off.

Achievers DB Realty started the game with hard hitting shots through the stunning Syed Basheer Ali scoring 7 consecutive goals. Furthermore the brilliant Ashok Chandna put up a strong defense with the aid of Jayvir Singh Gohil and Daniel Otamendi.

    

In spite of this effortless teamwork, Siddhant Sharma scored three goals for Polo Factory/61st Cavalry who fought tooth and nail to remain yet Achievers DB Realty took the trophy. H.H. Maharaja Gaj Singhji 2nd of Jodhpur-Marwar awarded the trophy and prize to the runner up team.
