To push into momentum the 8 goal tournament MD Polo and V Polo went into a tussle on the first match of the day. On the MD Polo side was Rahul Dwarkdas, Dinyar Madon, Gaurav Sahgal and the legendary Simran S. Shergill. While for V Polo Nimit Mehta/ Monique Van Haarst, Capt. Arvind Pal Singh, Naveen Singh and Gonzalo Yanzon played. With thorough jousting and balance both sides put up a great fight but in the end MD Polo came out victorious with combined efforts of Gaurav Sahgal and Shergill at 9 goals against V Polo’s 5 goals.
The second match of the day was played between Mayfair and NV Polo. Representing NV Polo were the players Mukesh Singh, Zahan Kapoor, Sunny Patel and Samir Suhag while Mayfair was represented by Anay Singh, Maj. Aman Singh, Siddhant Sharma and the ace Dhruvpal Godara. Both sides kept the pace throughout with equal attacks, defense and chase while the virtuosos Dhruvpal Godara and Samir Suhag put up a great brawl leading to a neck to neck score. Eventually NV Polo won with 4.5 goals against 4 goals.
5th January 2022
Starting off the second day in high spirits Mayfair Polo went against Los Polistas. Bearing the Los Polistas flags were the players Jayvirsingh Gohil, Hurr Ali, Kuldeep Singh and H.H. Padmanabh Singh. The Los Polistas team came in with victory as the agenda putting up a great defense and chase through the coordination of H.H. Padamanabh Singh, Jayvirsingh Gohil and Hurr Ali which leveled the plain. Although the scoreboard was quite close Los Polistas emerged successful with 5 goals against 4 goals.
Later in the afternoon, Dynamix Achievers and V Polo contested each other with Vishwarupe Bajaj, Shyam Mehta, Syed Shamsheer Ali and Daniel Otamendi playing for Dynamix Achievers. Shamsheer Ali and Daniel Otamendi’s unmatched defense and chase remained a consistent sight throughout the match. V Polo likewise played a wonderful few goals yet Dynamix Achievers were unstoppable and won with a 6 goals against 4 goals.

Jolting towards the trophy the victors of the previous matches NV Polo with a 1.5 advantage and Los Polistas tussled for the first match of the day. To start off the first chukker Hurr Ali and H.H. Padmanabh Singh scored 2 goals each through their faultless coordination and calculated defense for Los Polistas. H.H. Padmanabh Singh maintained this drive in the second chukker by successfully scoring 2 goals for the team. NV Polo came back strong in the fourth chukker with Nimit Mehta and Gonzalo Yanzon (who replaced Mukesh Singh and Samir Suhag) scoring two goals each. Eventhough it seemed like a tough struggle, NV Polo came out successful with a score of 5.5 goals against the close 5 goals of Los Polistas.
The second battle panned out between MD Polo and Dynamix Achievers. An equilibrium of scores, defense, attack and chase was kept throughout. Taking the ball into their court Dynamix Achievers scored 2 goals in the first chukker through Shamsheer Ali and Vishwarupe Bajaj’s finesse. MD Polo came back stronger in the second chukker with 2 goals scored by their superb teamwork yet, Achievers maintained their game and scored 2 more goals. Both teams kept the pace yet Achievers were unrelenting scoring 5 goals in the third and fourth chukker thus winning with 9 goals against 5 goals.

The adrenaline was palpably high throughout the pitch as the semifinals of the 75th Maharaj Prem Cup rolled in. To start off the day, Dynamix Achievers and Los Polistas fought against each other in an epic match. Shamsheer Ali, Shyam Mehta and Daniel Otamendi started off the game with spectacular 5 goals within the first chukker. Hereafter the game seemed in favor of Achievers as they kept on packing goals till they conclusively entered the finals with 7 goals against 1 goal.
The tempo remained fast on the pitch as the second match came about later that afternoon.
Here MD Polo and NV Polo fought against each other. Considering the intense back and forth that went between both teams the match was quite an edgy one nonetheless Simran S. Shergill was relentless. He solely scored 7 goals for MD Polo taking them into the finals with Gaurav Sahgal’s 2 goals totaling at 9 goals againt NV Polo’s 7.5 goals.

The long-awaited finals between both the legendary teams arrived where the audience was truly on the edge of their seat. A thorough display of equestrianism and sportsmanship this match showed how champs clash. Nonetheless Shamsheer Ali was a force to be reckoned with continuously scoring goals for Achievers throughout leading them to the final victory with 9 goals against MD Polo’s 4 goals.
