To drive into motion the first teams to duke out for the trophy were Sona Polo and Vimal Arion Achievers. Flying the Sona Polo flag were the members Sunjay Kapur, Abhimanyu Pathak, Gonzalo Fucci, and Juan Agustin Garcia Grossi while the Vimal Arion Achievers flag were represented by Ashok Chandna, Chris Mackenzie, Juan Cruz Losada, and H.H. Maharaja Sawai Padmanabh Singh. An opening match for the history books there were outstanding polo tactics and techniques played by both sides into the evening. For the Sona Polo team Agustin Garcia Grossi and for the Achievers team Chris Mackenzie pulled heaven and earth on the pitch scoring 8 and 6 goals consecutively through the chukkers. The dedication of Grossi paid off as the teamwork of Sunjay Kapur and Gonzalo Fucci led the Sona Polo team to victory with a total score of 11 goals against the equally resilient Achievers who ended up with 9 goals.
23rd February
Second day into the tournament the stakes were raised even higher as the first day was an outstanding display of polo left everyone awestruck. For this match Sujan Indian Tigers and Los Polistas went head to head and playing for the prior team were Jayvir Singh Gohil, Col. Ravi Rathore VSM (Retd.), Tomas Fernandez Llorente and Lance Watson while for the latter team Angad Kalaan, Kuldeep Singh Rathore, Siddhant Sharma and Manuel Fernandez Llorente took the pitch. Everyone held their breaths as the incredulous polo proficiency poured in from both sides across the vast pitch. For the Los Polistas team the relentless duo Siddhant Sharma and Manuel Fernandez Llorente took a rollercoaster ride through impeccable defense and chase scoring 8 goals by the last chukker. Whereas on the other end Tomas Fernandez Llorente and Lance Watson went through hell and high water with their techniques and garnered 8 goals for Sujan Indian Tigers. Eventhough it seemed impossible to deem the victors the Sujan Indian Tigers team fell short of 1 goal as Col. Ravi Rathore scored 2 more goals leading to a final score of 10 goals yet the Los Polistas team pair of Angad Kalaan and Kuldeep Singh Rathore scored 3 goals just in time leading their victory with 11 goals.
25th February
Sparking up the semi-finals of the esteemed tournament the first spot of the finals were contested by Sona Polo and Sujan Indian Tigers. Keeping the same momentum as the entire tournament both sides were uncompromising in their pursuit. A back and forth of defense, chase, tactics, maneuvers, long and short shots saw Sona Polo’s Juan Agustin Garcia Grossi score 9 goals while the pair of Tomas Fernandez Llorente and Lance Watson scored 8 goals. Through Abhimanyu Pathak and Gonzalo Fucci’s 2 goals the Sona Polo team were able to secure the first final position for the most awaited final of the Jaipur Season.
Later in the afternoon, Los Polistas and Vimal Arion Achievers butted heads for the next spot in the finals. The scoreboard remained equivalent throughout the match with Angad Kalaan’s chase, Kuldeep Singh Rathore and Siddhant Sharma’s impregnable defense and Manuel Fernandez Llorente’s outstanding scores for Los Polistas. On the other side, Lokendra who replaced Ashok Chandna played brilliant strokes, Chris Mackenzie and Juan Cruz Losada’s resistance moves and H.H. Maharaja Sawai Padmanabh Singh’s invincible scores led the team to win with 9 goals against the prior’s close 8 goals.
27th February
The long-awaited finals came as Vimal Arion Achievers and Sona Polo took the field with utter determination to the take the stunning 16 goal trophy home. A true hallmark of an exceptional polo player Juan Agustin Garcia Grossi carried the Sona Polo team with 10 back to back goals. For the other team, however, Juan Cruz Losada and H.H. Maharaja Sawai Padmanabh Singh put their best foot forward scoring 11 goals and taking high goal trophy for Vimal Arion Achievers.
