Argentine Powerplay: Torneo Metropolitano Alto

An exclusive 24-goal tournament, Torneo Metropolitano Alto, was held between some of the most renowned teams, showcasing a tremendous level of talent from all around the world. 

A massive tournament encapsulated a huge number of 24 teams, who played 30 matches to give us the worthy champions of the 2024 Torneo Metropolitano Alto tournament. If you missed the live-action, we will present a list of participating teams along with the most crucial matches from the event.

With a rigorous first few days of the tournament, all teams strived hard to win their league matches to have a shot at the cup. Here are some later moments from the tournament that help you shape our winners. 

Quarter-Final 1:  La Dolfina Polo Ranch vs Martindale 

Date: 26 September 

After the league battles, La Dolfina Polo Ranch and Martindale faced one another in this knockout battle. The game got neck-to-neck towards the end, making it ecstatic for all polo supporters. Dolfina Polo Ranch, however, was able to keep their composure quite well and kept an extra goal handy when the last bell rang.

Winners: Dolfina Polo Ranch ( 14-13 )

Quarter-Final 2: Miramar vs Capilla del Señor II

The second game was between Miramar and Capilla del Señor II. Both teams seemed evenly matched in skills and defensive approach. Neither team wanted to lose the game by being too aggressive, but Miramar proved to do so a little better and got away with the win in this game.

Winners: Miramar ( 8-6 )

Quarter-Final 3:  Don Ercole-Patagones vs Capilla del Señor

The Patagones team faced Capilla del Senor in a race to reach the semis. As the game progressed, Patagones marched ahead by scoring at a higher rate than the opposition, which helped them accumulate a dozen goals that were enough to earn them a ticket to the semi-final game. 

Winners: Don Ercole Patagones ( 12-8 )

Quarter-Final 4: La Dolfina 90210 vs La Ensenada 

The last quarterfinal game was contested between La Dolfina 90210 and La Ensenada. Towards the end of this tournament, both teams wanted to win. All players followed their strategic game plans, but the team of La Dolfina 90210 was a little better on this occasion. They fortified their defences well and scored several times to be in the lead.

Winners: La Dolfina 90210 ( 8-6 )

Semi-Final 1: Alegria vs Ellerstina Kazak 

Date: 3 October 

After a long, deserving break, Alegria and Ellerstina Kazak were the first teams to face each other in this do-or-die game. The latter team started off great and was ahead for four out of six chukker rounds, but Alegria was not about to throw away this game. They bounced back strongly in the fifth chukker, scoring an astounding five goals, and completely turned the odds by being very careful and scoring one more goal in the last round to pick up their well-deserved win.

Winners: Alegria ( 12-11 )

Semi-Final 2: La Dolfina Polo Ranch vs Don Ercole-Patagones

A game between La Dolfina Polo Ranch and Don Ercole-Patagones contested the place for the second finalist. This game was close, but not from the start. Patagones had a phenomenal start and were in the lead for starting five rounds, but La Dolfina Polo Ranch bounced back into the game just in the nick of time and levelled the score in the last chukker. The match went into overtime, where La Dolfina Polo Ranch scored the tiebreaker and surprised everyone by beating all odds. 

Winners: La Dolfina Polo Ranch ( 12-11 )

Final: Alegria vs La Dolfina Polo Ranch

Date: 8 October 

The highly anticipated date appeared when Alegria and La Dolfina Polo Ranch were up against one another with the prestigious cup for grasps. With so much at stake, both teams thought it best to take things slow, but soon Alegria advanced and went all out and developed a small lead that helped them have the upper hand throughout the rest of the rounds. 

Winners: Alegria ( 10-8 )
