The Aspen World Snow Polo Championship is one of the most distinguished snow polo events in the world. The Aspen Valley and Polo Club was co-founded by Melissa and Marc Ganzi. The co-founders along with polo ambassador and St. Regis Connoisseur Nacho Figueras, hosted the 2016 championship of the snow polo for the fourth consecutive year.
The event that took place at the St. Regis Aspen Resort from December 15 to December 17 attracted the best players from all over the country.
Flexjet won the title for the first time by knocking off U.S. Polo Assn with a score of 7-4 in front of an overflow crowd.
The action packed final consisted of a luxe factor for the audience. As the Flexjet served as the sponsor of the tournament, the fans were rewarded with a priviledge to watch the tournament through their heated, on-site VIP tent.
The first timers Jason Crowder and Jesse Bray contributed their best to the tournament along with the captain, Melissa Ganzi. They avenged their previous year’s loss in the finals by keeping ahead in the four chukker game. Aspen attracts the high-profile gentry from all across the city as well as the world.
