Col Rajinder Kumar Singh Kalaan, fondly known as Col Raj Kalaan has had a remarking life. The former +5 handicap polo player, had an impressive history in horse polo that included him playing in the World Cup for India.
“My happiest times were in Jaipur paying Polo”, Col Raj Kalaan said once. He served the President’s Bodyguard for three years from 1966, after which he served the 61st Cavalry for the next 14 years while commanding the regiment from 1980 to 1983, before retiring.
On the 4th March 2019, Col Raj Kalaan left for heavenly abode and we send our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends in this time of grief. The cremation ceremony commenced at the Army Crematorium Bar Square, Delhi Cantt, New Delhi at 2 PM IST.
