The 18-goal tournament, Mclaren Cup returns to The St. Regis Dubai, Al Habtoor Polo Resort and Club in its 9th year.
The Dubai Polo Gold Cup Series conducted a live draw for the fixture of Mclaren cup, the 18-goal
tournament, at the The St. Regis Dubai, Al Habtoor Polo Resort Club. It is being organised
under the support of HH Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of
Dubai.
Mohammad Al Habtoor, originator of the 18 goal Handicap Series, the Dubai Gold Cup and supporter of
the Al – Habtoor team said that there will be six teams playing in The Mclaren Cup. The playing teams
will include one of the top world polo players, such as Pablo Mac Donough, the 10-goal superstar and
three-time Triple Crown Champion with La Dolfina, Polito Pieres, 10-goal figure and winner of the 2012
Gold Cup in England, Ezequiel Martinez Ferrario, Francisco Elizalde, Ezequiel Martinez Ferrario, All 8-
goal handicaps and other coming directly from the Argentina Open.
Dubai Gold cup hosts five prestigious high goal tournament ; The McLaren Cup, which runs from 26
January to 9 February; The Polo Masters Cup from 10 to 15 February ;The Julius Baer Gold Cup from 16
February to 9 March ;The Dubai Challenge Cup from 14 to 23 March; The Dubai Cup from 6 to 13 April
2018.
McLaren Cup which starts from 26 January and ends at 9 February is the first tournament of the season.
