rincess Diana’s has always been appreciated for her glamorous avatar, elegance and confidence. Even after twenty years of her death, her fashion legacy continues to remain alive. A strong-willed and an independent-minded woman, Princess Diana’s fashion evolution seemed to be evident as she is still known to be one of the most glamorous international icons.
The exhibition “Diana: Her Fashion Story” took place at Kensington Palace from March 1st, 2017 and will go on for the entire year. Some of her exquisite collection of dresses, including the iconic velvet gown that she wore at the White House, pinstriped power suit and her other best looks will be displayed.
The show also includes some of her best-known looks, including the pink Emanuel blouse and the skin-tight, icy blue Atelier Versace dress that she famously wore on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar in 1991. Also, there are numerous looks by her favorite designer, Catherine Walker, including a pink suit and the ‘Elvis’ gown, named for its intricate embellishments worthy of the King.
The avant-garde dresses worn by Princess Diana have received global recognition – from Alexander McQueen to Vivienne Westwood, she left an eternal impression on millions of young women with her unique sense of fashion. Her resurgence as a fashion muse has left a nostalgic appeal.
