N

obody does the watches better than the Swiss do. Frederique Constant does full justice to those words. With only 18 years of its existence in the watch making business, competing with the 100-year-olds is tough but Frederique Constant with its impeccable styles and detailed designs shatters those beliefs by sharing the same stage as these brands do. It guarantees a luxurious experience along with desired balance in terms of pricing, quality and availability. The new Manufacture Worldtimer speaks out for itself. The – FC-718, is a movement in itself and is completely developed in-house at Frederique Constant’s manufacture in Plan-les-Ouates in Geneva.

The new worldtimer collection is a timepiece which is a perfect blend of the world timer compilation, an exquisite date indicator and a dab of swizz mastery. Like other worldtimers, who only include GMT zones, this worldtimer stands true to its meaning and covers all the time zones together. The worldtimer is a piece of art and has different layers to ease on the complication. It’s a self-winding mechanical movement .

The 42mm stainless steel dial enchants everyone with detailing so intricate and makes the watch look aesthetically pleasing. With a classic silver finish to the world map embossed in the backdrop and the hand applied hour dot indexes-

everything in this dial speaks precision. The 24-hour disc is divided into day and night and the division is indicated by a sun and moon and a light and dark color contrast for easy understanding. The luminous nodes increase legibility.

The watch has three discs each having a separate function. The first disc represents the current time. The second discs show day and time differentiation “at a glance” with its bi-color ring, and the outermost disc is the city ring, which denotes 24 major cities, one for each time zone- which aligns with the previous 24-hour ring in order to show the corresponding time. The city at 12 o’clock marks your home time. The sunburst guilloché date sub-dial at 6 o’clock adds an interesting dimension to the dial, a welcoming break from the other Worldtimer features.
