Global Polo Roundup From 7-13 July 2025

Here is a recap of the most prestigious and buzzworthy matches from last week that made the international polo community thrive.

1. The Eduardo Moore Tournament (12-15 Goals)

The Eduardo Moore, a 12-15 goal tournament, saw participation from four power-packed teams ready to fight in top-quality matches featured in the UK. 

After going through some intense competition in the knockout stages, Equibreed and Emlor face off to fight for the coveted cup. The game gave the audience goosebumps as it drew to a close. Equibreed performed brilliantly to hold onto the lead when the final bell rang and became the champions of the 2025 Eduardo Moore Tournament.

Winners: Equibreed ( 11-10 )

2. Palio Di Siena Trophy (10 Goals)

The only tournament of Italy taking place in July recently concluded with highly anticipated matches and results this past weekend. 

The final game of the tournament was played between Santos and the Mustang Polo Team. Santos took the lead from the very first round. They managed to maintain it throughout the game, displaying tremendous control over the opponents to win this year’s ⁠Palio Di Siena Trophy.

Winners: Santos ( 8-5 )

3. Copa Manuel Prado Y Colon De Carvajal (9 Goals)

The Copa Manuel Prado y Colon de Carvajal was a 6-9 goal tournament that invited nine teams to compete against one another in a series of 21 matches. 

The final game was truly magnificent for polo enthusiasts. In the first round, Pampa Y La Via took a huge five-point lead by the end of the first half (7-3). However, in the next round, Legacy Polo Team took over and scored five magnificent goals to snatch away the lead (8-7). The last round again marked an unexpected counterattack from Pampa Y La Via, who scored four goals to win ⁠the Copa Manuel Prado Y Colon De Carvajal. 

Winners: Pampa Y La Via ( 11-8 )

4. ⁠Copa Memorial Fundador Enrique Zobel (12 Goal)

A fascinating part of the Spanish Polo Season, ⁠the Copa Memorial Fundador Enrique Zobel featured four 12-goal teams at the famous Ayala Polo Club. 

The final game was a one-sided thrashing by the Whizmo Polo Team against Electric Polo, who started with a points advantage. The game was utterly dominated by the former side, who scored exactly twice the number of points as the opposing team.

Winners: Whizmo Polo Team ( 15-7.5 )

5. ⁠Open De Gassin (6 Goals)

The lower handicap version of Open De Gassin was held at the French Polo Club, a 6-goal tournament that presented spectators with six exciting teams. 

Final Game: Power Horse vs Adelante 

Date: 12 July 

The final game showcased a phenomenal performance from Power Horse against Adelante, who started with a points advantage. Power Horse, staying true to their name, decimated the team of Adelante by scoring an astounding nine goals to lift the trophy of ⁠Open De Gassin this year. 

Winners: Power Horse ( 9-6.5 )

6. Trophee Du Coquetier D’or (12 Goals)

The Chantilly Polo Club in France was host to the 2025 Trophee Du Coquetier D’or, featuring five masterful teams for two complete weeks. 

The final game was almost a child’s play for the Octogone Polo Team, who stamped their authority against Tedelou. Both teams went pointless in the first couple of rounds, but then Octogone Polo Team woke up and not only scored goals but also mastered their defences, leading to an easy win, giving them this year’s Trophee Du Coquetier D’or. 

Winners: Octogone Polo Team ( 5-1 ) 

7. Open De La Moinerie (6 Goals)

Four teams and eight games were held in this year’s Open de La Moinerie, a 6-goal French tournament featuring some highly anticipated matches. 

After seven games, it was finally time for the final match between La Moinerie and Le Pommeray. The game was very close, with La Moinerie having a great start, but Le Pommeray soon caught up to them. The concluding round was the fourth chukker, where a couple of points helped La Moinerie win the 2025 ⁠Open De La Moinerie. 

Winners: La Moinerie ( 7-6 )

8. Access Bank Day (14-19 Goals)

Four Teams competed in two games, celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Access Bank Day at the Guards Polo Club. A partnership between Access Bank,  Fifth Chukker Polo Club and UNICEF, this charity event was held to raise funds to support a school in the Kaduna region of Nigeria. Prominent personalities, including Adolfo Cambiaso, Guillermo Terrera, Tomás Panelo, and Jaisal Singh, played the high-goal match. The other game was played by polo patrons and players who are either based in Africa or have businesses there.
