Heading Into The 8 Goal IPG Col Girdhari Singh Memorial Cup

The first day of the 8 Goal IPG Col Girdhari Singh Memorial Cup had four matches scheduled for the day where the first three matches were fixed at the AEC ground, New Delhi, while the fourth match was to be proceeded at Jindal Polo Ground, Noida.

The first chukker for the first match of the IPG Col Girdhari Singh Memorial Cup had Col Girdhari Singh ASC vs 61 Cavalry. The first chukker witnessed a lot of action but nothing on the scoreboard.

The second chukker galloped into action where the entire chukker did not witness any goals. It was only in the last minute that Samir Suhag opened up scoreboard with the first goal in favor of his team Col Girdhari Singh ASC. This was followed by an equalizer by Col Ravi Rathore.

Opening the third chukker was Samir Suhag who managed to grab the second for his team. This was followed by a penalty shot of 40 yard in favor of the team which was taken by Naveen Singh and was into turned the third goal. This was answered back by Maj Aman Singh who grabbed the second goal for 61 Cavalry.

The last chukker of the match opened once again in favor of Col Girdhari Singh ASCwith the budding player, Sep Ravinder Mang in action. This marked the fourth goal of the team. This had once again, Sep Ravinder Mang in action where he grabbed the fifth goal for his team. Following the speed of the game was Samir Suhag who grabbed the sixth goal for the team and the last for the match.

For the second match, team Navy had an advantage of 2 goals. With this, the match began with Angad Kalaan on strike who grabbed the first goal of the match. This was followed by Salim Azmi equalizing the scoreboard with second goal in favor of Adie Broswon. The chukker ended with Basheer Ali on strike.

Getting into the second chukker, team Navy remained in full swing. With Cdr Akhil Sirohi on strike he grabbed two back-to back goals where the second one was a 40 yard penalty shot. With this, he raised the scores to 4 goals against 3 of Adie Broswon. Following the pattern, team Navy once again grabbed a goal.

The third chukker had in action Dhananjay Singh who grabbed another goal for his team. After this, Cdr Akhil Sirohi grabbed the fourth goal for his team. The match went ahead and once again had Cdr Akhil Sirohi on strike.

The last chukker of the match had Adie Broswon on strike with some major action building up. While the first goal of the chukker had Dhananjai Singh in action, the second one had Angad Singh Sandhu on strike. This marked the sixth goal of the match. He was followed by Basheer Ali on strike three times back to back. In return, team Navy had Cdr AP Singh on strike with a 40 yard penalty.

The third match of the day had Rajnigandha Achievers and Sujan against each other. Into the first chukker, Sujan kept the game to themselves with Rehat Virk on strike to grab the first goal. He was followed by Dhruvpal Godara taking the 30 yard penalty. At this the chukker wrapped.

The second chukker had Dhruvpal Godara on strike with 60 yard penalty. This was followed by Daniel Otamendi grabbing the second goal from 30 yard penalty.

The third chukker opened with Kuldeep Singh Rathore on strike who grabbed the second goal for Rajnigandha Achievers. He was followed by Padmanabh Singh on strike grabbing the equalizer goal for his team.

The last chukker of the match started off in favor of Sujan with Angad Kalaan taking the lead and grabbing the fourth goal of the match. This was followed by Dhruvpal Godara taking a 30 yard penalty shot again in favor of team Sujan. Answering back to this was team Rajnigandha Achievers where Daniel Otamendi grabbed two goals back to back with the second being a 60 yard penalty. The chukker ended with similar score.

The match entered into the extra chukker and with Padmanabh Singh taking the ball for the golden goal, he deflected slightly. He was followed by Daniel Otamendi, who too missed the shot. Finally it was Kuldeep Singh Rathore who grabbed the golden goal.
