The HH Maharaja of Jodhpur Cup 2022

December 14, 2022

The first match of the tournament was between two very strong teams i.e Sahara warriors and Sujan Indian Tigers. Players Zeeshan Merchant, Mukesh Singh, Abhimanyu Pathak, and Chris Mackenzie (SA) represented the Sahara warriors. Players Anay Shah, Jaisal Singh, H.H. Maharaja Sawai Padmanabh Singh of Jaipur, and Silvestre Donavan (ARG) represented the Sujan Indian Tigers. Chris Mackenzie and Silvestre Donavan scored a goal each in the first chukker. In the second chukker, Sahara Warriors managed to score a goal whereas the Sujan Indian Tigers scored 2 goals and took a lead for the chukker. Sahara Warriors scored 2 goals in the 3rd chukker. Both the teams scored 3 goals each in the 4th chukker which led to a tie. Sahara Warriors scored a tie-breaking Golden goal in the 5th chukker and won the match by 7-6.

The second match of the day was between Vimal Arion (consisting of players Dino Dhankar, Bh. Nikhlendra Singh, Syed Shamsher Ali, and Daniel Otamendi) and Sunjan Ashwa (consisting of players Sanjula Mann, Kr. Bhawani Singh Kalvi, Angad Kalaan, and Siddhant Sharma). Vimal Arion scored 3 goals in the first chukker and took the lead whereas Siddhant Sharma scored 1 goal for Sujan Ashwa. In the second chukker, Vimal Arion scored 2 goals and Sujan Ashwa scored 1 goal. Sujan Ashwa managed to score 2 goals in the 3rd chukker and Vimal Arion scored one goal. In the last chukker, Vimal Arion scored 3 goals whereas Sujan Ashwa scored 2 goals. Vimal Arion won the match by 9 – 6½.

 

December 15, 2022

The first match of the day was between Jodhpur Carysil and Sujan Ashwa. Mahmud Khan , Kuldeep Singh, Dhruvpal  Godara and Guy Gibrat played for the Jodhpur Carysil and Sanjula Mann, Kr. Bhawani Singh Kalvi, Angad Kalaan and Siddhant Sharma played for the Sujan Ashwa. Sujan Ashwa took the lead by scoring 2 goals in the first chukker whereas Jodhpur Carysil managed to score 1 goal in the first chukker. In the second chukker, Dhruvpal Godara scored 1 goal for the Jodhpur Carysil and the Sujan Ashwa team scored 3 goals. Sujan Ashwa scored 4 goals in the third chukker while Jodhpur Carysil scored one goal.  In the last chukker, the Sujan Ashwa maintained their lead and scored 3 goals whereas the Jodhpur Carysil scored only one goal. Sujan Ashwa finished the game with a score of 12½ and Jodhpur Carysil with a score of 5.

The second match of the day was between Polo Heritage/Amyza and Sujan Indian Tigers. Players Amer Randhawa, Yogeshwar Singh, Gonzalo Yanzon, and Syed Basheer Ali represented the former team, while the latter consisted of Anay Shah, Jaisal Singh, H.H. Maharaja Sawai Padmanabh Singh of Jaipur and Silvestre Donavan (ARG). Sujan Indian Tigers took a lead by scoring 3 goals in the first chukker whereas the Polo Heritage/Amyza scored 2 goals. Both the teams scored 1 goal each in the second chukker. Polo Heritage/Amyza did not score any goals in the third chukker, whilst Sujan Indian Tigers scored 2. In the last chukker both the teams scored 2 goals each.  The match ended with Sujan Indian Tigers winning at a score of 8-5.

 

December 16, 2022

The match was between Sahara Warriors and the Polo Heritage/Amyza. Players Zeeshan Merchant, Mukesh Singh, Abhimanyu Pathak, and Chris Mackenzie (SA) represented the Sahara Warriors and players Amer Randhawa, Yogeshwar Singh, Gonzalo Yanzon and Syed Basheer Ali represented the Polo Heritage/Amyza. Sahara Warriors took a lead in the first chukker by scoring 2 goals. Both the teams scored 3 goals each in the second chukker. In the third chukker, Sahara Warriors scored 3 goals whereas the Polo Heritage/Amyza scored 2 goals. In the fourth and the last chukker Polo Heritage/Amyza scored 2 goals. Finally, Sahara Warriors won against Polo Heritage/Amyza by 8-7.

 

December 18, 2022

The finals of the tournament were between teams Sahara Warriors and Vimal Arion. The former team included players Zeeshan Merchant, Mukesh Singh, Abhimanyu Pathak, and Chris Mackenzie (SA), while the latter consisted of players Dino Dhankar, Bh. Nikhlendra Singh, Syed Shamsheer Ali, and Daniel Otamendi. The match started with Vimal Arion striking 2 goals against 1 by Sahara Warriors in the first chukker. The score increased with 3-1 and 0-3 in the next 2 chukkers respectively. In the last chukker, Vimal Arion scored 2 against 1 and took the trophy home with the final score of 7-6.
