Semi-Final 1: Ellerston White vs White Deere Park
Date: 11 April
The first semi-final was played between Ellerston White and White Deere Park. It was a goal fest. Both teams started decently, and by the end of the first half, they were on equal points (7 each). As soon as the second half began, Ellerston White broke the shackles and scored five goals in a single chukker, which placed them quite ahead in the game. Continuing the good momentum, Ellerston White secured the win by a margin of four points.
Winners: Ellerston White ( 17-13 )

Semi-Final 2: Jemalong Polo Club vs Gardenvale
The second semi-final game featured an intensely close game between Jemalong Polo Club and Gardenvale. The latter team kept Jemalong Polo Club under complete check in the first two rounds of the game. But Jemalong Polo came back strong in the fourth and fifth rounds to level the scores, fighting so hard that both teams ended on 8 points each by the end of the sixth chukker. Finally, the game went into overtime, where the golden goal was scored by the side of Jemalong Polo, earning their tickets into the finals.
Winner: Jemalong Polo Club ( 9-8 )

Subsidiary Final: Standing Rock vs Larapinta
Date: 11 April
It was time for the subsidiary final between Standing Rock and Larapinta, where the latter team started with a points advantage. The first round went to Larapinta’s side, but as the game progressed, Standing Rock bounced back into the game, scoring goals at regular intervals to gradually build up their lead and win the game by a close margin of 1.5 points.
Winner: Standing Rock ( 7-5.5 )
Final: Ellerston White vs Jemalong Polo Club
Date: 13 April
The coveted final of the Morton Cup was ready to feature Ellerston White facing Jemalong Polo Club. The game was looking pretty even during the first half of the game when both teams ended up scoring four points each. From hereon, Jemalong Polo really lagged behind and for the rest of the game was able to score just one point, which caused their demise. Ellerston White performed outstandingly well to guard their goalposts and score at regular intervals to become the champions of this year’s Morton Cup.
