After a long wait of about 40 complete years, India was able to capture its second medal in the Team Dressage event in the Asian Games. The last time India was able to grab a medal was when the game made its debut in the 1982 edition of the Asian Games held in New Delhi by the team of Jitendarjit Singh Ahluwalia, Ghulam Mohammed Khan and Raghubir Singh.
In the competition of Dressage, the goal is to perform a sequence of predetermined movements known as 'figures' or 'movements' in an arena of 1200 sq. meters of range, judging the coordination between the rider and the horse. The horse has to switch between three places: walk, trot, and canter, between 12 lettered markers placed symmetrically in the arena.
On Tuesday(27.09.2023), in a momentous achievement, India created this history by winning the gold medal at the Asian Games in Hangzhou in Dressage Prix St-Georges, announcing a triumphant return to the podium. This was made possible by the quartet comprising Sudipti (up on Chinski), Divyakriti (Adrenalin Firfod), Hriday (Chemxpro Emerald) and Anush (on Etro). Let us have a quick look at the scores of the top three teams:

Before this event, India had bagged a total of 3 gold, 3 silver, and 6 bronze medals in the Asian games. India was only able to win two silver medals in equestrian events courtesy of Fouaad Mirza finishing second in the Individual competition and then partnering Rakesh Kumar, Ashish Malik and Jitender Singh in the year 2018. But India was able to come and strike back harder this year with the young combination of Sudipti Hajela, Divyakriti Singh, Hriday Chheda and Anush Agarwalla, who were able to overcome every obstacle to complete this historic achievement.
