India, through the past years, has seen an increasing acceptance for the ‘Game of Kings’.
With many sports leagues being introduced, Chirag Parekh, a Gujarat-based industrialist, finally decided upon launching a new avatar for India’s first-ever Polo league. The league is said to commence in March 2017.
The championship will be played in an all-new format with the indulgence of the best international players along with their Indian counterparts. The auction of the players would start in January 2017. The idea of the premier league floated in with the huge success of a tournament conducted earlier this year by Parekh.
The league is said to have six teams in all, with four players in each team. A great deal of planning has been put into the successful launch of the event.
Also, such an idea calls for a grand and pompous celebration, therefore a launch event was slotted for the day at Rajasthan Polo Club, Jaipur. A gala dinner at Sujan Rajmahal Palace for all the prominent families of Jaipur, Jodhpur, and Udaipur, celebrities, and many eminent guests was held.
