International Polo Roundup For 16th-22nd June 2025

Here is a recap of the most prestigious and buzz worthy matches from last week that made the international polo community thrive.

1. Polo and Genuss Festival (4 goals)

The Rhein Polo Club Düsseldorf in Germany presented the local polo lovers with an exciting new tournament, the Polo and Genuss Festival. The event brought immense joy to the area and was celebrated with great enthusiasm throughout the region. 

Eight teams divided into two zones participated in this polo festival, enjoying themselves throughout all twenty games. Freiluftmanufaktur won the Silver Cup, defeating Tiger Frontier by a two-point margin (7-5). In the final match, La Maison faced the team of Grat. 

Final: La Maison vs Grat 

Date: 22 June 

For the final game and the Gold Cup, La Maison was ready to face Grat, where the latter team started with a points advantage. La Maison took the lead and overcame this point advantage from the first round. Grat tried to come back into the game during the second half but fell short due to La Maison’s impeccable defensive strategies. Eventually, La Maison won the Gold Cup by a slim margin of 1.5 points. 

Winners: La Maison ( 9-7.5 )

2. The HPA Ladies International 2025
The Cirencester Polo Club, located in Cirencester, Gloucestershire, England, was graced by the presence of two teams competing for the HPA Ladies International 2025: France and England. 

The hosts, quite confident in their skills, were also the favourites going into the game. Both teams, being equal in handicaps, 20 goals each, were filled with veterans on both sides. 

Final Game: England vs France

Date: 21 June 

As soon as the bell rang, both teams wanted to score the maiden goal and put pressure on the opponents. However, the game was so perfectly balanced that it kept everyone on their feet. Goals flew back and forth, and the time quickly moved into the last round. Displaying equal determination to win the title, both teams ended up with the same score, and England and France became joint winners of the HPA Ladies International 2025. 

Winners: Game Tied ( 5 each )

3. Ladies’ Polo Nations Cup (11 Goal)

Among the several ongoing tournaments in the French Polo Season, the Ladies Polo Nations Cup concluded this past weekend. Six teams representing specific nations participated in this event, which comprised nine matches. 

Out of all the teams, Normandie/France and Haunts-De-France/Yves Delorme performed outstandingly well to qualify for the finals. Apart from these teams, Ireland also dominated the tournament, beating its opponents by huge margins, with the only loss coming against Haunts-De-France/Yves Delorme. 

Final: Haunts-De-France/Yves Delorme vs Normandie/France

Date: 22 June 

The bell rang, and both teams were on their way to grasp control of the ball. The Haunts-De-France/Yves Delorme team started with a points advantage, having a low overall handicap points. Normandie/France blasted three goals in the first round to take the lead, but the opposition was able to restrict them from scoring at such a rapid pace in the second half of the game. Ultimately, in the last round, Haunts-De-France/Yves Delorme scored two more goals to seal the deal and won this year’s Ladies Polo Nations Cup. 

Winners: Haunts-De-France/Yves Delorme ( 6.5-4 )

4. 3rd Polo Nations Cup (12 Goals)

For the boys, the Chantilly Polo Club held the 3rd Polo Nations Cup, which comprised ten twelve-goal teams fighting hard for the title in 24 matches. 

Tonnes of games were featured, including subsidiary finals for the Charity Cup and Coupe Yves Delorme titles. The teams that stood out the most, courtesy of their performance, were France Occitanie, Argentina, Switzerland, and Australia. The Australian team won the Charity Cup against Switzerland by a slim margin of one point (7-6).

Final(3rd Polo Nations Cup): France Occitanie vs Argentina 

Date: 22 June 

The final game for the 3rd Polo Nations Cup in the men’s category was between France Occitanie and Argentina. The former team developed a comfortable three-point lead by the end of the second round and looked in command of the game. However, things took a drastic turn, and Argentina fought back to level the scores completely by the end of all five rounds (8 each). Eventually, the game went into overtime, and France Occitanie seized the opportunity to score the magical goal, which secured the 3rd Polo Nations Cup for them. 

Winners: France Occitanie ( 9-8 )

5. Summer Opener 10 Goals

The Summer Opener 10 Goal was a concise tournament featuring just four teams, launched at the Las Brisas Polo Club in the US. Only a handful of seven intense matches were held, including six qualifier games and a highly anticipated final. 

Final: Las Brisas vs PFP 

Date: 22 June 

The hosts, Las Brisas and PFP, qualified as top contenders for the Summer Opener 10 Goals title. The game was entirely governed by the former side, who were in tremendous form. They scored over half a dozen goals in the very first round and gained a four-point lead. From hereon, PFP were under a lot of pressure, and despite trying hard to make a comeback, it was as if they were always playing under the shadow of their opponents. Consequently, it was Las Brisas who very conveniently won the 2025 title of Summer Opener 10 Goals.

Winners: Las Brisas ( 14-11 )
