Here is a recap of the most prestigious and buzz worthy matches from last week that made the international polo community thrive.

The Mohammed VI International Trophy

The fifth edition of the coveted Mohammed VI International Trophy was held at the Royal Guard Polo Club. This event showcased teams with impeccable determination, grit, and strength. The tournament was a brilliant celebration, attracting delegates from all over the world. People enjoyed the warm hospitality, which provided them with unforgettable experiences. To mark the conclusion of the event, a fabulous dinner was held in one of Rabat’s most prestigious and exclusive restaurants. 

Final Game: Morocco vs Egypt 

Date: 25 May 

The tournament’s final game was held on May 25 between two exciting teams, Morocco and Egypt. The teams exhibited great skill and teamwork to create an exceptional final for the spectators. Egypt started with a point advantage. However, Morocco remained unfazed and demonstrated top-tier performance, keeping their calm at the most crucial points of the game. Eventually, they emerged as victors in this game, beating Egypt by a close call of 0.5 points.

Winner: Morocco ( 5-4.5 )

Arlette Et Roland Sadoun

Polo in Paris thrilled fans with the Arlette et Roland Sadoun—a fast-paced, 12-goal tournament played in a sharp knockout format with just four teams.

Red Falcon, Cria Bucarest, Sainte Mesme, and Baron D’Avella faced intense pressure from the outset, knowing that the only way to stay in the game was to score—and score fast.

Final Game: Sainte Mesme vs Cria Bucarest 

Date: 25 May 

The final of the prestigious Arlette et Roland Sadoun saw Sainte Mesme take on Cria Bucarest, who began with a points advantage. But Sainte Mesme quickly turned the tide, netting three goals in the first round to grab the lead—only for Cria Bucarest to claw it back in the second. From there, Sainte Mesme shifted gears, tightening their defence and piling on goals to build a commanding lead. By the final whistle, they had sealed the win and were crowned champions of the 2025 edition.

Winner: Sainte Mesme ( 11-6.5 )

Labrador Trophy

The Labrador Trophy is a four-goal tournament held between some of the few phenomenal teams learning and paving their paths to greatness. 

Final Game: AFB/Quixote vs Tex8n Polo 

Date: 26 May 2025

AFB/Quixote and Tex8n Polo had battled hard to reach the final stage, but only one could claim the Labrador Trophy—an event that traditionally coincides with the club’s annual dog show.

In a thrilling contest at the Guards Polo Club, both teams gave it their all, but AFB/Quixote edged ahead with a strong performance, scoring seven goals—just enough to outpace Tex8n Polo and clinch the 2025 Labrador Cup.

Winner: AFB/Quixote ( 7-5 )

Copa 25 De Mayo Trayken 2025

In the heart of polo—Argentina—a much-anticipated final had fans on the edge of their seats.

Final Match: Madelan vs Trayken

This tightly contested showdown delivered pure excitement, with a total of 19 goals keeping the crowd roaring throughout. Madelan held their nerve under pressure and managed to stay one goal ahead as the final bell rang, securing a thrilling victory.

Winner: Madelan ( 10-9 )

Apart from the final, two intriguing games were held between the Aroma and Gumberto teams, and a game for the rising stars of polo, in which Team Violeta performed exceptionally. 

Aroma won the first game between Aroma and Gumberto, and Violeta’s little champs performed exceptionally to have their moment of rejoicing.
