Kazak Win The Argentina Polo Tour Ellerstina

The Argentine Polo Season delivered standout performances from seasoned polo veterans against the stunning backdrop of Ellerstina Cancha. This much-anticipated annual event gained added excitement as defending champions Kazak successfully secured their spot in the finals.

Aiming to etch their names in glory, three groups featuring twelve teams competed in this year’s Argentina Polo Tour Ellerstina. With matches lighting up the arena daily, the energy and adrenaline ran high among players and spectators alike. Here’s a look at some standout moments from this thrilling tournament.

Final (Copa Fernet Branca): Standing Rock vs White Crane 

Date: 10 April 

April 10 presented us with an intriguing game between Standing Rock and White Crane held for the title of Copa Fernet Branca. Both teams were impressive with their performances from the start. However, Standing Rock was able to slowly go past White Crane after the end of the fourth round, after which the latter team was under pressure, which was one of the reasons for them losing this game.

Winner: Standing Rock (12-10)

Semi-Final 1: Kazak vs Bel Polo 

Date: 10 April 

The first semi-final of the main tournament featured a thrilling, high-scoring clash between Kazak and Bel Polo—arguably the most intense match of the event. Bel Polo, trailing for most of the game, made a dramatic comeback in the final round to level the scores and push the match into overtime. In a nail-biting finish, Kazak sealed their spot in the finals with a golden goal.

Winner: Kazak ( 14-13 )

Final (Copa Carpano): BN Polo Team vs Balanz Capital 

Date: 10 April 

The BN Polo Team and Balanz Capital played the next game for the Copa Carpano. The former team had the upper hand from the start and kept Balanz Capital’s scoring in check. It was all down in the last round when the BN Polo Team was able to extend the lead further and win the game by three points. 

Winner: BN Polo Team ( 12-9 )

Semi-Final 2: Ojo Caliente vs Power Infrastructure 

Date: 10 April 

The second semi-final game of the Argentina Polo Tour, Ellerstina, featured Ojo Caliente and Power Infrastructure. During the initial couple of rounds, Power Infrastructure was off to a flying start, hinting at an easy win for their supporters, but Ojo Caliente had other plans. Despite being behind, Ojo Caliente blasted off seven goals in the third round to get in the lead and maintained it till the end to qualify for the finals. 

Winner: Ojo Caliente (15-11)

Final (Copa La Zeta): Cañuelas Polo Club vs In Vitro 

Date: 12 April 

After a one-day break, Cañuelas Polo Club and In Vitro were ready to face off for the prestigious Copa La Zeta. The game and the lead went back and forth in this game, forcing every single one of them for a highly anticipated finish. In Vitro came back strong in the sixth round, scoring four goals to level the scores and end the game in a tie. Eventually, the game went into overtime, and fortune favoured the side of Cañuelas Polo Club as they scored the golden goal to win the title of Copa La Zeta.

Winner: Cañuelas Polo Club ( 14-13 )

Final: Kazak vs Ojo Caliente 

Date: 12 April 

It was time for the finals, and Kazak was on the ground to face the might of Ojo Caliente. Kazak had a phenomenal start to the game and gradually built up a four-point lead by the end of the first half. As soon as the second half began, Kazak continued their momentum and felt comfortable being five points ahead when the fifth chukker concluded. It was time for Ojo Caliente to shine as they succeeded in giving their opposition a mini heart attack as they scored four goals in the concluding chukker and tried to get past Kazak, but time ran out. Ultimately, it was Kazak who was able to lift the Argentina Polo Tour Ellerstina Cup owing to their phenomenal initial game. 

Winner: Kazak ( 13-12 )
