Las Floreales Win Trophée Du Bois Du Lieutenant

Six teams and a dozen challenges were featured this past week, providing once-in-a-lifetime memories for the spectators. The Trophee Du Bois Du Lieutenant had a decent start, growing in enthusiasm as the matches proceeded. Here’s the recap: 

Participating Teams 

ZONE-A 

Qualifier: Siben vs Las Floreales 

Date: 10 May

One of the best qualifier games was played between the Siben and Las Floreales teams. Siben had a tremendous start to the game as soon as the bell rang and scored half a dozen goals in response to three goals by the end of the third round. Las Floreales tried a strong comeback in the last round but fell short by one point as the team was in a run against time. 

Winner: Siben ( 7-6 )

Qualifier: Twist vs Eukaryote Investments 

Date: 10 May 

The last qualifier game was between Twist and Eukaryote Ivestments. The former team dictated every minute of the game, as Eukaryote Ivestments went pointless until the end of the third round. With its formidable defence, Twist went forward into the game, as the opponents could only score once in the last round. With a comfortable margin of three points, Twist won the round. 

Winner: Twist ( 4-1 )

5th and 6th Place: Eukaryote Ivestments vs Octogone Polo Team 

Date: 11 May 

A match for the 5th and 6th places of the tournament featured the teams of Eukaryote Ivestments and Octogone Polo Team. The latter team started with a points advantage. Octogone was able to maintain a slim lead by the end of the second round. But as soon as the second half began, Eukaryote Ivestments pulled their socks and scored a couple of goals to take away the lead in the third round and continued the momentum in the concluding round to earn the fifth position.

Winner: Eukaryote Ivestments ( 7-5.5 )

3rd and 4th Place: Los Siete vs Twist 

Date: 11 May 

For the 3rd and 4th places, Los Siete faced Twist. Both teams played defensively, making the game slow and low-scoring. Despite the initial couple of rounds going pointless for either team, the second half brought changes. One team looked to score its first goal to take the lead, but the other responded with an equaliser, resulting in a draw. 

Winner: Match Tied ( 2 each )

Final: Las Floreales vs Siben 

Date: 11 May 

It was time for the much-anticipated finals between Las Floreales and Siben. La Floreales approached the game aggressively and took an early lead, putting Siben under much pressure. By the end of the third round, they were already four points ahead, which put them in a comfortable position. Despite the valiant efforts from Siben, the game was won by Las Floreales as they wrote down their names on this year’s Trophee Du Bois Du Lieutenant trophy.

Winner: Las Floreales ( 10-6 )
