ston Martin has become the symbol of modern sports cars. The company combines customary hand-made craftsmanship with a cutting edge innovation in all the cars it produces. Aston Martin models combine elegance, sophisticated outline of a grand vehicle with mind blowing power and speed of a sports car. The brand has developed into an iconic brand synonymous with elegance and high performance since the time of its inception.
The Aston Martin Vantage GT8 is a purebred, inspired by the 2016 Aston Martin V8 Vantage GTE race car. The GT8’s extended bodywork permits somewhat more wider tracks—0.8 inch more at the front and 1.4 inches at the back. Spring rates increment by 25 percent at the front and 10 percent at the back when contrasted. The standard Vantage V-8, however the most critical chassis change is the loss of the electronically flexible dampers. These have been surrendered for what is, successfully, a set of motorsport-grade passive dampers. Ride height is 0.5 inch lower, bushings have been moved up to race-spec parts, and the front suspension geometry has been given a liberal dose of negative camber.
With a super sharp undercarriage tuned for track-focused readiness, controlled by an amended 440bhp adaptation of Aston Martin’s rousing 4.7-litre V8 and available with an option between a six-speed manual and seven-speed Sportshift II paddle-shift transmissions. The Vantage GT8 has unmistakable style and a driving background that is second to none.
The GT8 highlights utilization of carbon fiber with the front splitter, front and back guards, bumpers, side ledges and back diffuser, all of which is formed from lightweight material. It is further distinguished by a new 5-spoke alloy wheel with ultra-lightweight seven-spoke center-lock magnesium rims available as a choice. Both standard and optional wheels are shod with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres for exceptional performance on-road and track. Three optional ‘Halo‘ paint schemes are available: astonishing combinations of China Grey and Blue, Stratus White and Green or Stirling Green and Lime that perfectly capture the Vantage GT8’s dynamic character and performance.
Announcing the introduction of the new Vantage GT8, Aston Martin CEO Dr Andy Palmer said: “Road cars are our business, but racing is the beating heart of Aston Martin. The Vantage GT8 expresses that combination perfectly: an authentic and unashamedly extreme road car that draws directly from our Le Mans racing programme to amplify the inherent dynamism that has made the Vantage such a fine sports car. Beautifully engineered, the Vantage GT8 is a driver’s car in the truest sense of the word.”
Appealing to car enthusiasts it is a 150-unit limited edition model which has already been sold out despite a price in Europe that makes a GT8 (with all of its lightweight options) more than twice as expensive as a basic $107,825 V8 Vantage.
