Park Place Wins the USPA Gold Cup Against Coca Cola

Eleven teams, all chasing the glory of lifting the Gold Cup, battled through a series of intense, back-to-back matches—exceeding the expectations of their supporters. Let’s dive into the tournament’s final stages to relive some of its most thrilling moments.

Date: 19 Match 

The first semis game featured intense moments between the Coca-Cola and Brookshire Polo teams. Brookshire had an excellent start and was three points ahead by the end of the first half. Coca-Cola quickly recuperated and bounced back into the game, equalising the point in the next round. They eventually got away with the game, being just a point ahead. 

Winner: Coca Cola ( 11-10 )

Semi-Final 2: Park Place vs La Dolfina Catamount 

The second semi-final game was another high-scoring close encounter between Park Place and La Dolfina Catamount. Despite having a great start, La Dolfina lost their composure and leaked too many points. Park Place used the opportunity to sneak a goal in the sixth round to win the game by a single point. 

Winner: Park Place ( 12-11 )

Bennie Gutierrez Memorial Semi-Final 1: BTA vs Setai 

Date: 20 March 

For the Bennie Gutierrez Memorial, BTA and Setai were the first teams to compete for a place in the finals. BTA started brilliantly, which allowed them to build momentum into the game and continue to score points. Despite Setai catching up to them at a certain point, BTA led the game beautifully and scored the decisive goal in the last round. 

Winner: BTA ( 9-8 )

Bennie Gutierrez Memorial Semi-Final 2: Global Port vs Pilot 

The second semi of the Bennie Gutierrez Memorial, featuring Global Port and Pilot, was another close call for the teams. In this game, Global Port was behind for almost the entire match but made a comeback, beating all odds to score three goals in the concluding round to seal the game with their victory and a ticket into the finals. 

Winner: Global Port ( 10-9 )

Bennie Gutierrez Memorial Final: BTA vs Global Port 

Date: 23 March 

This game was a replica of tug-of-war, with teams snatching away each other’s chances for a complete stomp. During the middle phase, BTA was lagging, but they could turn the tides and score an incredible four goals to take the lead. Global Port was under much pressure in the last chukker and only managed to score once, losing the game to BTA. 

Winner: BTA ( 11-8 )

Final: Park Place vs Coca-Cola 

Date: 23 March 

After fierce battles, Park Place faced off against Coca-Cola in the final showdown for the coveted USPA Gold Cup. The two teams were so evenly matched that even after six intense chukkers, the game ended in a draw. In a gripping overtime, Park Place clinched victory with a stunning goal, securing the title and the glory of the USPA Gold Cup.
