LA POLO brings to you a deep insight into the polo tournaments that did a round across the world in the week gone by. Have a look:

1. Cartier’s Queen's Cup Week 2: Action Continues

Segavas defeated Polo Stud Schockemohle by 15-11 in the Cartier Queen’s Cup Day 10 on The Queen’s Ground at Guards Polo Club. On Day 11 Thai Polo (rec 1 goal) got the better of MT Vikings at Flemish Farm by 12-10.

In the next round, on August 11, Monterosso defeated Segavas by one goal at 10-9 confirming their quarter final spot and third place in league 2. In another close encounter, Park place beat Next Generation by 10-9 on the Duke’s Ground.

On August 12, Park Place Vaara beat Les Lions/ Great Oaks by 11-10 at the Flemish Farm Castle Ground and Scone Polo defeated MT Vikings by 10-9 at The Queen’s Ground.

2. Paraguayan Polo to Resume

 

 

Paraguayan polo is gradually recommencing, being the first nation in the region to get approval to restart activities.

The polo season in Paraguay begins towards the start of February, and a few clubs have started to bring the ponies from the field to their training places.

The FPP collaborated with the National Sports Secretariat and the Ministry of Health to build up a convention to ensure a sheltered comeback.

3. German Polo Championship

 

 

The German Polo Championship started on August 7 at Polo-und-Reitanlage, in Phoben, Berlin. The tournament will have six teams participating in up to 12 goals, with the finals scheduled on August 16.

The First day matches had Engel & Völkers beat Riller & Schnauck by 8-7, Getranke Lehmann got the better of Plusquadrat by 7-6 and Allianz Kundler defeated Carfactory 9.5-4. Day 2 matches will have Carfactory taking on Plusquadrat, Engel & Völkers challenging Getranke Lehmann and Riller & Schnauck against Allianz Kundler.

4. Hurricane Cup

 

 

The Newport International Polo Series is set to host the Hurricane Cup from August 8, the only attended sporting event in New England since the start of COVID-19.

The Polo Series will proceed to conduct matches for the remaining 8 weeks in the 2020 schedule, each Saturday through September, observing all the safety measures in view of the pandemic.

5. Silver Cup Semi Final Line Up

 

 

The final day of bracket play of the Silver Cup on August 2, had four enticing matches to decide the line-up of semi-finals.

The first match had BenSoleimani.com defeating Santa Clara 12-9. In the second game, Antelope booked a spot in the semi-finals getting the better of Dundas by 15-13.

FMB Too! dominated The Farmers & Merchants Bank by 12-5 for the third spot in the semi-finals while Lucchese beat Klenter Ranch by 14-11 in an exciting match to grab the final spot.

The semi-finals are scheduled on August 7 with Antelope vs BenSoleimani.com at 1:00pm ET and Lucchese taking on FMB Too! at 7:00pm ET.

6. Isolas LLP Silver Cup

 

 

In the Isolas LLP Silver Cup of handicap 12-14, La Liga Sports TV remained the pioneer, defeating Sainte Mesme by 11-8. In the 4-6 goal match, Isolas 1892 beat Santa Quiteria by 6-5.

7. Aspen Valley Kidz Arena Polo Tournament

Three teams played at the Aspen Valley Polo Club on August 5, concluding the tournament in a draw. Each team included one adult professional and two kids, with two chukkers of play in each game.

In the first match, Polo School Green tied the game with Polo School Blue at 4-4. In the second match, Green took on WPL Yellow and ended at a tie at 2-2.

WPL Yellow played against Polo School Blue in the final as this game ended in a tie as well, at 3-3. Lorenzo Nero with six goals was the lead scorer of the tournament.

8 .AmCham 2020 drive-in party, Moscow

 

 

The traditional summer event of the American Chamber of Commerce, the AmCham 2020 drive-in party took place at the Moscow Polo Club. â €

The teams of Moscow Polo Club and Planernaya Polo Club participated in the event. The Blue Team, featuring Alexey Rodzenko,

Valery Mishchenko, Mikhail Rodzyanko and Anastasia Borodina, took on The Reds team. comprising Praskovya Roshchina, Egor Zaostrovtsev, Boris Asoev and Dmitry Kozachenko.

The red team triumphed by one goal at 4-3. Most Valuable Player was awarded to Praskovya Roshchina.

9. Harrison Cup Final

 

 

Emlor dominated Garcha Hotels by 10.5-5 in the finals to conquer the Harrison Cup on August 8.

10.AAP Launches Polo University

From now on, the AAP will not only be the main reference of polo in the world, it will also be synonymous with the vanguard in polo education.

The Polo University platform is the new official tool for the dissemination of polo knowledge in all its aspects. AAP demonstrates the professionalism of its structures and the modernization of sport in all its forms creating a method and a language with the best professionals in the field.
