Eight teams, split across two zones, qualified to compete in this year’s Aberto Do Helvetia. Over 14 fiercely contested matches, each team battled for the coveted title, delivering moments of pride and two exhilarating weeks of high-calibre sportsmanship for their supporters. Qualifier: SJP/Flamboyant vs Colorado II
Date: 17 May
In one of the high-scoring qualifier games, SJP/Flamboyant had to face Colorado II. The former team wrote the first couple of rounds to their names, ending four points ahead by the end of the first couple of rounds (6-4). However, Colorado II made a strong comeback and tied the game when the fifth round ended (13 each). In the last round, SJP/Flamboyant scored three more goals to give themselves one more win in the tournament.
Winner: SJP/Flamboyant ( 16-13 )

Qualifier: Flamboyant vs Maragata
Date: 21 May
Flamboyant had to face Maragata’s tough, nerve-wracking competition. By the end of the fourth round (8-7), Flamboyant was ahead; however, Maragata wasn’t ready to give up yet. They scored five goals in the next round and took the lead. Going into the last round, Flamboyant was under pressure, but they managed to score a couple of intense goals to snatch away the win in front of the opponents.
Winner: Flamboyant ( 13-12 )
Qualifier: La Cumbre vs Maragata
Date: 24 May
Another encounter that gave goosebumps was a game between La Cumbre and Maragata. This last league game was looking to be a walk in the park for Maragata, but La Cumbre was about to give its fans the best game of the season. By the end of the fifth round, Maragata was in a comfortable position (11-8), but La Cumbre was able to level the scores in the very next round, which pushed the match forward into overtime. The golden goal was scored by the side of La Cumbre in overtime, turning the game around and beating all odds, registering an important win.
Winner: La Cumbre ( 12-11 )

Semi-Final 1: Diamante vs Flamboyant
Date: 27 May
The first semi-final game was a contest between Diamante and Flamboyant. Both teams looked consistent and evenly matched till the end of the fourth round. Going into the first round, Dimante further solidified their position by extending their lead to two points, which put pressure on Flamboyant. The last round also went to the side of Dimante as they scored three more goals to seal not only the win but also a spot in the final.
Winner: Diamante ( 11-8 )
Semi-Final 2: La Cumbre vs SJP/Flamboyant
Date: 28 May
The second semi-final was a high-stakes game between La Cumbre and SJP/Flamboyant. The match was pretty even, and the latter team made a huge comeback after being five points behind by the end of the second round. SJP/Flamboyant, despite being able to tie the scores by the end of all rounds, couldn’t handle the extra time of overtime, and La Cumbre scored the magnificent goal, which took them into the finals of the Aberto Do Helvetia.
Winner: La Cumbre ( 12-11 )
Final: Diamante vs La Cumbre
Date: 31 May
The final game concluded this past weekend in an all-in show of strength, determination, and grit. The side of Diamante completely dominated the starting rounds as they registered a fantastic 10 goals by the end of the fourth round (10-5). However, from here they started falling off a little, and La Cumbre closed the gap entirely by the final bell. An interesting fact was that Diamante went pointless in all three of the last rounds. Eventually, the game went into overtime where Diamante was able to redeem themselves and scored the final goals of the tournament to lift the prestigious title of the Aberto Do Helvetia.
