Polo in Jaipur 2025: Maharaj Prithi Singh of Baria Cup

Reviving polo in India after a brief pause, the Jaipur Spring Season captivated hearts with the exhilarating Maharaj Prithi Singh of Baria Cup.

The chilly morning of 15 January compelled six teams to return to action and strive to add one more trophy to their names. Comprising two matches per day, the audience witnessed spectacular action in the play. A look at the participating teams and how they took on one another in this highly awaited tournament.

Match 1: Cavalry Royal Enfield vs RPC/ASC

Date: 16 January 

The tournament commenced with the first game between two of the most exciting teams: Cavalry Royal Enfield and RPC/ASC. The match was evenly poised as both teams were not ready to falter so easily as to give up the lead. In the end, Cavalry Royal Enfield took the game home by having an extra goal registered to their side, which helped them win the first game of Maharaj Prithi Singh of Baria Cup.

Winner: Cavalry Royal Enfield ( 7-6 )

Match 2: Rambagh Polo vs Aravali 

The following game on the same day featured a dominating performance from the side of Rambagh Polo against Aravali. Despite being on equal footing in terms of handicap level, Aravali Polo was pretty far behind in experience and teamwork. Rambagh Polo exhibited phenomenal gameplay, scoring half a dozen goals and some high-quality defensive strategies that carried them comfortably over the finish line. 

Winner: Rambagh Polo ( 6-2 )

Match 3: RPC/ASC vs Jaipur 

Date: 17 January 

The next day presented us with two new teams against one another: RPC/ASC and Jaipur. This game proceeded with caution from both sides, but Jaipur could not protect their side consistently. It led to RPC/ASC winning the game.

Winner: RPC/ASC ( 5-3 )

Match 4: Aravali vs Chandna Mayfair

The next game for the day featured a comparatively high-scoring game between Aravali and Chandna Mayfair. Aravali had an excellent start to the game, and they were able to build a small lead by the end of the first half. In the second half, Chandna Mayfair tried to fight back during the third chukker, but Aravali took over the game in the last round, leaving Chandna Mayfair a couple of points behind. 

Winner: Aravali ( 7-5 )

Match 5: Cavalry Royal Enfield vs Jaipur 

Date: 18 January 

The last day of the league matches showcased a match-up between Cavalry Royal Enfield and Jaipur. Both teams were serious about this game, which intensified the arena’s atmosphere. Continuing their sublime form, Cavalry Royal Enfield could once again show their composure in the most crucial stages, creating the opportunity to score the deciding goal, leading them straight into the finals. 

Winner: Cavalry Royal Enfield ( 3-2 )

Match 6: Rambagh Polo vs Chandna Mayfair

The last league game was played between Rambagh Polo and Chandna Mayfair. The lead went from one team to the other by the end of the first two rounds. Eventually, both teams were tied up on 6 points each by the end of the third round. Things got pretty interesting from here, as it was anybody’s game. Chandna Polo fell off a little at the most crucial moments, which Rambagh Polo beautifully capitalized on as they scored three more goals to earn their path toward the finals.

Winner: Rambagh Polo (9-7)

Final: Rambagh Polo vs Cavalry Royal Enfield 

Date: 19 January 

It was finally time for Rambagh Polo and Cavalry Royal Enfield to face one another in the finals of this tournament. As soon as the bell rang, the players rushed to take control of the ball and score the first goal to take the lead. In this event, the game was almost equally balanced by the end of every single round. Towards the last chukker, both teams stood on six points, and spectators prayed to witness one more goal from their favorites and watch them win. Rambagh Polo made this magical goal come off and became the champion of this year’s Maharaj Prithi Singh of Baria Cup.

Winner: Rambagh Polo ( 7-6 )
