Polo Players Come Down In Delhi For Play Off

 

After the first day of the RMRM Gold Cup wrapped up in favor of Horse & Wagon after defeating Indian Navy team, it was time to gallop into the next day. The polo match started off with the polo players coming in for the first match that was fixed between ASC Col Girdhari Singh team and Cavalry – APRC.

The first match had the chukker going in. Team ASC Col Girdhari Singh and Cavalry – APRC were in full swing. Both the teams got into action where in just after a few minutes, Naveen Singh grabbed the first goal in a 30 yard penalty. With this, team ASC Col Girdhari Singh had 1 goal against nil of Cavalry – APRC. The match went ahead and taking the chance, Lt Col Vishal Chauhan took control of the ball to grab the second goal for his team. In the last seconds of the first chukker, it was Sep Ravindra Mang from team ASC Col Girdhari Singh who took the third goal.

The second chukker started off with two back to back penalties granted to Cavalry – APRC. But unfortunately the team was not able to turn it into goals. Contrary to it, the team did not lose its spirit and in the very next move, Col Ravi Rathore grabbed the first goal for his team Cavalry – APRC. In the next move, Gaurav Sahgal in a 40 yard penalty grabbed the second goal for Cavalry – APRC. Answering it back was Naveen Singh in a 40 yard penalty. At this, the chukker ended at 4 goals to 2 in favor of ASC Col Girdhari Singh.

The last chukker of the first match of Day 2 of RMRM Gold Cup had Naveen Singh on strike. In a splendid run, he took the sixth goal in favor of ASC Col Girdhari Singh. The match ended up at this score.

The second match of the day started off and in no time, Siddhant Sharma grabbed the first goal of the match in favor of El Dragon. The match galloped ahead and in action was Aravali Polo with Manuel F Llorente. Controlling the ball with ease and experience, he grabbed the first goal for his team. With this, the scoreboard Equalizer with 1 goal each.

Galloping into the second chukker, both the teams worked to bring scores to their ends. At almost the end of the half chukker, Siddhant Sharma took a 60 yard penalty shot for his team. With this, El Dragon maintained the lead with 2 goals to 1. This was quickly equivalized by Manuel F Llorente. Moving ahead in the game, El Dragon once again was in full swing and in a quick steady strike, Siddhant Sharma grabbed the third goal for his team.

Kicking off with the third chukker, Abhimanyu Pathak grabbed the fourth goal for El Dragon. The chukker galloped ahead in play. With El Dragon maintaining a good lead, Aravali had to make a comeback to balance out the play. At this, Angad Kalaan scored the third goal for his team.

Targeted as the last chukker of the match, Manuel F Llorente grabbed the equivalling score in the very last seconds of the chukker. The scoreboard rested at 4 goals each.

The last match of day 2 of RMRM GOLD CUP started off in full swing. The first chukker was nothing less than an action packed performance. Opening up the chukker was Simran Singh Shergill. He grabbed the first goal for his team Jindal Panther. The Arjuna Awardee then moved forward to pass the ball to his fellow player, Phil Seller, who in a nice and clean shot grabbed the second goal for team Jindal Panther. Answering the quick speed of Jindal Panther was Padmanabh Singh, Maharaja of Jaipur. In a fierce action, managed to get the first goal for team Rajnigandha Achievers.

The second chukker began with the race to maintain the lead. Daniel Otamendi in a 60 yard penalty grabbed the second chukker for his team Rajnigandha Achievers. Breaking it up was Simran Shergill who bagged the third goal for Jindal Panther. Equalizing it again was Padmanabh Singh, Maharaja of Jaipur. He bracketed the third goal for team Rajnigandha Achievers. At this, the chukker ended.

The third chukker started off with Jindal Panther taking the lead with Phil Seller on strike. The +2 handicap polo player bagged the fourth goal for the team. Getting the pattern of the game, Daniel Otamendi from Rajnigandha Achievers in a shot hit bracketed the fourth goal for his team.
