RAJPUTANA & CENTRAL INDIA CUP (10 Goals) KICKS OFF AT THE 20TH JODHPUR POLO SEASON, 2019 WITH SIX TEAMS COMPETING, FINALS TO BE PLAYED ON 24TH DECEMBER!

The Rajputana & Central India Cup (10 Goals) Sponsored by Cello World will be played from 19th December to 24th December, 2019 at Maharaja Gaj Singh Sports Foundation Polo Ground, Jodhpur, 20th Jodhpur Polo Season, 2019. The tournament commenced by Mehrangarh band welcoming the spectators and teams with the classic Padharo Mhare Desh folk music. The inaugural match was played between SUJAN and Krishna Polo Heritage. The players were introduced as SUJAN in blue was ready to take on Krishna Polo Heritage in orange. Mr. Nicholas Scortichini and Mr. Siddhant Sharma were the umpires and Mr. Gerardo Mazzini was the referee for the match. Mr. Ankur Mishra and Th. Sidharth Singh Rohet were the commentators for the day.

FIRST MATCH: SUJAN V/S KRISHNA POLO HERITAGE

The first chukker started with the players hustling to get the ball as Mr. Abhimanyu Pathak missed a 60 yard penalty in the first minute of the game. Kr. Yogeshwar Singh scored the first goal for Krishna Polo Heritage. Mr. Simran Singh Shergill tackled the ball to give a beautiful pass that was converted into a goal by Mr. Brad Mallet to open the scoreboard for SUJAN. Yogeshwar Singh scored his second on a hitting pass by Mr. Emilio Kirby. The first chukker scores were:

Second chukker was possessed by SUJAN with Simran Singh Shergill scoring two goals. Emilio Kirby converted a 40 yard penalty for Krishna Polo Heritage as Brad Mallet added another one for SUJAN winding the second chukker scores at:

Simran Singh Shergill was in charge of the day adding another two goals for SUJAN after missing one 60 yard penalty. Emilio Kirby scored one for Krishna Polo Heritage. The scores at the end of third chukker were set at:

Abhimanyu Pathak displaying a fighting game throughout the match scored his first for Krishna Polo as Emilio Kirby scored the equalizer. But it was Brad Mallet who scored the winning goal for SUJAN overpowering Krishna Polo Heritage by a difference of one goal with the final scoreboard standing at:

SECOND MATCH: JODHPUR CENTRAL ACADEMY V/S LOS POLISTAS

 

 

The second match of the day was played between Jodhpur Central Academy in orange and Los Polistas in blue. Mr. Nicholas Scortichini and Mr. Abhimanyu Pathak were the umpire and Mr. Gerardo Mazzini the referee for the match.

The match started with a +0.5 goal lead awarded to Jodhpur Central Academy. The first chukker started with experience marking on the field as Syed Samsheer Ali scored two goals and Mr. Samir Suhag scored one goal for the Polistas. Mr. Angad Kalaan, playing his first match in the Jodhpur Polo Season scored his first for Jodhpur Central Academy as the scores at the end of first chukker were:

The second chukker had the young and the restless duo R.K. Janmejai Singh and Bh. Hemendra Singh performing and coordinating with their seniors for Jodhpur team. Mr. Dhruvpal Godara took the charge scoring two goals and passing a hitting stroke to Hemendra Singh who skillfully converted it into a striking goal. For Polistas, Mr. Jaiveer Sinh Gohil scored the fourth goal winding the second chukker scores at:

The third chukker had the home team Jodhpur in momentum with Dhruvpal Godara dispaying his aggressive game to score another two goals. Hemendra Singh tackled the ball to override all and score another goal. Samir Suhag scored one for the Polistas as the scorecard stood at:

The intensity of the match deepened in the fourth and final chukker to decide the winners with both teams fighting extremely hard to get better of the other. Los Polistas harmonized their play with Shamsheer Ali and Samir Suhag scoring one goal each as the young Syed Hurr Ali tackled the ball before his father Syed Shamsheer Ali could and ran away dexterously to score his first for Polistas. Dhruvpal Godara had no intentions of trailing on the scoreboard and added another two goals for Jodhpur Central Academy leading his team to victory in a nerve-wrecking match with the final score of 9.5 goals to 8.
