The Sanawarians Made A Comeback Through The Rianjal- Sanawar Polo Cup 2020

 

 

 

A great start to the Delhi Polo Season was destined early this month. The Old Sanawarian Society, came together once again to organise the Rianjal – Sanawar Polo Cup 2020. After an interval of five years, the Sanawar Polo Cup was brought into action with some of the old Sanawarian participating in the match. The team composition for the Rianjal – Sanawar Polo Cup 2020 looked as follows:

At the event, Maj. Gen. Kulpreet Singh (Retd), President, The Old Sanawarian Society told LA POLO, “Basically, the Sanawar Polo Cup was a regular feature of the Old Sanawarian Society events. Unfortunately, for the last five years we did not have this cup. So this year, after I took over as the President of the Old Sanawarian Society last year, this was one of my key results that I must revive this cup. Glad to see that it turned out to be a good afternoon today.” Talking further about the cup, he added, “The Sanawar Polo Cup is going to be a regular feature. We are going to have it every year at the start of the season.”

The Rianjal – Sanawar Polo Cup 2020 started off with Sunjay J Kapur taking the lead for his team Peace Stud. The hustle off the match went ahead and once again Sunjay J Kapur managed to grab second goal for his team. The opponent team was not able to make any goal for the first chukker.

The second chukker had team Barnes in action with Col Navjit Singh Sandhu on strike for the first goal for his team. Galloping ahead in the game, Col Navjit Singh Sandhu grabbed the second goal for team Barnes. Team Peace Stud had no progress in the scores.

The third chukker remained in favor of Barnes where Col Harsh Preenja grabbed the third goal for the team. Moving ahead, Col Navjit Singh Sandhu once again grabbed the fourth goal for the team.

The last chukker of the match had Peace Stud in action with once again Sunjay J Kapur on strike. The match rested in favor of Barnes with 4 goals to 3.

As the match ended, Mr Himmat Dillon, an Old Sanawarian told LA POLO, “The match turned out to be great. I believe immensely that the future of the game is positive.”
