One of the most important titles of the 48 International Polo MANSION Tournament, the Royal Bliss Silver Cup of high goal winded up after an intense match between Brunei Polo Team and MB Polo on the fields of Santa Maria Polo Club. In a closely contested finale, both teams displayed a brilliant game of Polo and had the crowd on the edge of their seats the whole time. The fields of Los Pinos of Santa Maria Polo Club hosted a spectacular game where the intense action was complemented by leisure and party organized by the White Summer Festival with the performance of Sofia Ellar. Undefeated in the league matches, Brunei Polo Team gave a headstart to the final contest with early goals to dominate the first chukker. The quartet formed by Bahar Jefri, Camilo Castagnola, Juan Martin Nero and Santiago Stirling continued their all-out attack against the players of MB Polo, Matheen Bolkiah, Tomas Panelo, Tomas Beresford and Pablo Pieres. The match progressed as both the teams displayed an all-round performance but it was Brunei Polo Team in the end who laid their hands on the trophy after a fascinating 10 – 9 victory. It was a game without concessions, with the final chukker hanging in between when both teams were tied at 9 at the last seconds. Finally, the Brunei team defined the match with a goal on the bell to end up taking the trophy.t
Brunei Polo Team collected the Royal Bliss Silver Cup with high handicaps from Antonio Villanueva, manager in Cádiz of the Department of Communication and Institutional Relations of Coca-Cola European Partners, accompanied by the mayor of San Roque, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix, and the president of the Royal Spanish Polo Federation, Jaime Espinosa de los Monteros.
Ten-goaler Juan Martin Nero was awarded the Best Player of the evening by James Blair of the MANSION Group. Bahar Jefri received the Best Patron award from María José Mora-Figueroa and the president of the Santa María Polo Club, Antonio Ortiz. The action for the day ended on the tunes of singer-songwriter Sofía Ellar. The performance by Sofia was last of the great concerts scheduled by the White Summer festival, and through which artists such as Rosario Flores and Viva Suecia have already passed.
