One of the wildest polo festivals, the Shandur Polo Festival is set to entertain Pakistan with some high intensity polo. The Polo ground at Shandur is located amidst the Ghizer district of Gilgit Baltistan in the North West Chitral District. It is a common shared path between these regions.
The fist time the royal sport of polo was played way back in 1936 at the Shandur Polo Ground, and ever since it has become one of the greatest polo grounds of the region. The ground is located 155 kms away from the Chitral Town and about 200 kms away from Gilgit city.
The elevation of this polo ground is 3,743 m able the sea level, and the polo ground attracts many tourists from around the world. Many matches are played between different teams of the region but the final match will be between Gilgit Team and Chitral Team.
